(No ones pov)He knew this was never supposed to happen, these feelings he felt whenever he was near you. Yet a part of him never wanted to know what it meant. Never wanted to understand it. All that he understood that it was making him fall apart
It was late September when he met you, he remembers the moment as if it happened yesterday. The smile on your delicate lips as you spoke to one of the brothers he felt his heart race when your eyes met him. Sending him a small wave a second later. He couldn’t stop himself from waving back. Everything seemed to pause when he saw you smile at him, his breath catching in his throat as he watched you walk away.
It only lasted a few seconds, but oh did he wish it would last for all eternity if only you would let it. It would only be moments before he would be called to Diavolos' side, and then he would learn your name. He had watched your hands be tucked into the jacket pockets of the school's outfit. Taking in everything he could as he stood in front of you. In his years of being in the Devildom he never had his eye caught by anyone or anything. He was known to be cold hearted and he terrified other demons and would often only listen to what Diavolo said. Making him almost a perfect demon in the eyes of others.
“Barbatos, this is (Y/N) they are one of the new students” Diavolo speaks but one word stays in his mind as he watches you. “They came to the Devildom a few weeks ago” Diavolo finishes looking between both of them, somewhat wide eyed at Barbatos’s reaction, a small smile is on the green haired demon's lips as he bows slightly in front of the human. His hand resting on his rest while the other rests against his lower back. His gradient eyes lock with yours.
“It’s good to finally meet you, I’m Barbatos” he states smoothly, containing a calm and collected expression but inside he felt his heart beating quickly and his mind racing. He watches a light shade of pink come to your cheeks as you stare down at him. Nodding only for a second before speaking, catching his attention even more.
“It’s nice to meet you too.” he feels a hand rest on his shoulder, causing him to stand back up straight but his eyes never leave yours.
“I hope if you are in any need you come to me” Barbatos states softly letting his hands rest at his sides once again feeling multiple eyes stare at him.
“I’ll keep that in mind” he watches the smile come to your lips and it’s enough to make his heart stop…
He would see you almost everyday, and his feelings would grow each time he saw you. Or each time you started a conversation with him. He was thankful to know that you didn’t find him intimidating or in the least bit scary like others did. You had taken his words seriously and visited him often, mainly to ask about his day or spend a little time with him. Before you were called to go back to the house by Lucifer or one of his younger brothers.
He at this point had been more desperate to spend time with you. But tried to not seem too pushy. Often getting too many things, cooking too many servings of food just so he could see you when he would ask if you could bring the extras to the brothers. Only one day he wasn’t expecting you to stay by his side the whole day after taking the day off away from the brothers due to their somewhat annoying behavior is what you had told him.
“Hey Barbatos. Would you mind if I hung out with you for the day?” he hears their voice snapping him out of his thoughts as they stand in front of him with a somewhat nervous look. He smiles and nods soon watching their shoulders loosen up. They still scan the room and stop causing his eyes to shift to the vase of colors, reds and a strong blue catches his attention, he had forgotten DIavolo had wanted to change some colors in the castle and had requested a deep blue color to bring out the reds and golds. Of course Barbatos had been against the idea and he still was against the idea and though the blues and deep purples of the Bluebells were tacky. But made no argument and soon he placed a very small very of them around the castle. Keeping them hidden in hopes they wouldn’t be noticed. And at one point he had forgotten about them. Turning his attention back to the human in front of him he shoots them a smile.
“Of course, it would be a pleasure to spend time with you.” he replies smoothly soon going back to work shortly after. He would peak over his shoulder to watch them as they had followed in around the long halls of the castle. Shortly after he had finished everything that he needed to do, he turned to face them and they bump right into him as they stopped paying attention. His arm snaking around their shoulders as to stop them from falling.
“I’m sorry I should’ve been paying attention.” he hears them softly speak, slipping from his arm. The warmth of their body leaves him, leaving him somewhat cold. Something he couldn’t put his finger on as their eyes flicker around the room and land on him at some points.
“It’s no problem.” He feels the eyes of the many paintings around them bore their eyes into their lowly put figures, something he had been used to spending many years roaming the halls, learning that many of the paintings had some sort of curse on them. Or had some crazy back story to them and why they were painted.
“I wanted to ask you a question that I’m not sure how you would feel about.” he leans closer in curiosity but still keeps a distant place from them, his eyes landing on their jacket pocket a small purplish blue flower peaks out from the black fabric they were wearing. He recognizes the flower causing him to smile again but he says nothing. Waiting to hear what they wanted to say.
“Go ahead” a coy expression is on their face as their fingers tap against the back of their hand.
“I want to make a pact with you.” they speak quickly, making his eyes widen at the request, not sure of how he feels about the request they had made, the only person he had ever made a pact with was Solomon and that had been because the human was very cunning. But Barabtos had sensed no trickery from (Y/N) almost seeming to trust them without a doubt which had been forgein to other then Diavolo. He felt a heat boil in his chest and felt his face begin to heat as he watched their shy reaction.
“Is there any reason?” had been his first response, making them look up again at him with their lips pressed into a thin line.
“You’re a demon I trust a lot, it would mean we could be closer. I won’t hold you down or summon you without reason if that is what you are worried about.” they rub their hand on the back of their neck awkwardly, a tint of red is on their face, causing his heart to quicken. His hand rests on his chest before he bows slightly in front of them.
“I pledge to you my loyalty, this is an agreement to our pact.”
