Green with envy, is a term that is quite used in modern times, originally coming from William Shakespeare. He mentions jealousy and envy as a monster that takes over people. He was right of course. As jealousy is a strong feeling that takes over everything. Especially if you are the Avatar of Envy. Which Leviathan was. He often felt his blood boil whenever he saw (Y/N) with any of his brothers. Jealous that it wasn't him they were talking to, but he understood why they weren't he hadn't made a good impression on them. It made him feel even worse when they were talking to him because he couldn't figure out the right words to say to them and often just spit mean lines out causing a laugh to leave their lips.
Rain falls from the sky, hitting everything around him, yet not him as he stayed under the umbrella he had brought in case anything happened. He mentally thanked his past self for being so smart. He watches the small green plants being pushed down from the rain, but his attention is shifted as he feels a figure run into him, almost making him fall over but picks himself up as he falls on the small ledge of a planter. A small amount of rain falls on him, almost ruining his mood as he gets wet but his eyes widen, and his heart races as he sees who is standing in front of him.
"I'm so sorry-" they stop speaking as they look at him, a blush coming to his cheeks from the sort of recognition he was getting. He holds out one of his hands for them to pick themselves up fully but quickly takes it away resting it at his side. "Leviathan, it's weird to see you outside of your room" they chuckle, brushing off their clothes that are soaking wet.
"What are you doing out here?" he questions before he could think it through, a blush coming darker on his face as he sees a smile fall to their lips. One of their hands awkwardly runs through their hair.
"I went to go shopping and didn't look at the forecast so I didn't bring an umbrella" they laugh out in an almost embarrassed tone as they shift closer to him under the umbrella. He feels like his chest is burst and his heart will be the cause.
"Here take the umbrella" he snaps out loudly holding the umbrella over them, fully stopping the rain from hitting them and causing it to hit him in return. They try to push the umbrella back to him, but he forces it over them over and over again until they look at him with a confused expression
"I possibly couldn't, you'll get sick and I'm already wet." They mutter under their breath a blush soon coming to their face and both of them stand in the awkward and tense silence before he grabs their hand and forces the umbrella into it.
"I said take it," he mutters, looking away " you're a human and get sick easy" he grumbles, still not looking at them, but his attention is forced onto them as he hears them laugh loudly, and they take his hand into theirs.
"If I didn't know any better, I would say you do care about me" this sentence causes his heart to stop for a split second, the blush on his face becoming darker than ever before, his eyes widened as he quickly moves his eyes down to his hand and up at their face. The feeling of wanting to faint was overwhelming.
"Don't say things like that normie! People could hear you, and I wouldn't want people to think I care about you" he scoffs, not making any effort to move away from them and not pushing his hand away from them.
"Well it can't be helped, a certain demon is embarrassed, maybe" they pause, slipping their hand away from his, and inching closer as they now hold the umbrella over the both of them. "I should try something different?" Even while they were here, he felt a part of him changing and he felt a little more confidence in himself but it wasn't enough to let him make any moves to them, and that hurt his chances of getting them. But even so, he was embarrassed to do something he would regret. He wanted nothing more than to say how he felt about them.
"Ah!" he shouts his mouth hanging open as he shoots himself backward and presses himself against the brick wall behind him. "Don't do that, I didn't prepare myself!" his voice breaks and goes out in some parts making him feel even more embarrassed about it. This makes them laugh. Only causing them to take his hand again this time pulling him closer to them and under the umbrella. He watches the small droplets fall down their face from the rain, wondering how someone like them wasn't embarrassed to be seen with him.
"You need to work on that confidence Leviathan" they state, pressing their finger to his nose for a split second before letting their hand fall into his again. "You are a pretty cool person to be around even if you don't think you are," they mutter just loud enough so he could hear it.
"Aren't you embarrassed to be seen-" before he could finish he felt their lips press to his cheek and move to his lips for a second he stood in shock at the unfamiliar feeling and only realized what happened when they pulled away.
"No, I'm not" they mutter with their head pointed to the ground not looking at him but their hands still together. At any moment he knew his heart was going to explode and kill him, he couldn't stop the thoughts racing in his mind as he still stood there. One day he told himself that he would get lucky enough that they would pick him over anyone else and maybe he would take his chance if he was ever given an opportunity.
