This was requested by Imgay_dealwith_it Thank you so much for requesting, and I am so sorry for taking so long to write it! I made it extra long for ya. Please forgive me!
People who know me personally know that abuse is not a fun topic for me to talk about, so that's why it was kinda hard for me to write this one-shot because it meant that I had to confront my problems. I hope I didn't overly project in this (lmao). This is a warning: If you are sensitive to topics such as abuse (physical, mental, emotional, etc), blood, swear words, depression, and such, feel free to skip this chapter! I understand! Just know that I am sending you to love one way or another~<3
"Y/n-Chan, is everything okay, you look very tired..."
"She's right, you look pale and famished,"
"Oh no, did you hurt yourself again?"
Y/n looked at her two friends, Aoi and Yashiro with a wide grin. She was glad that her friends truly cared about her, and it hurt her deeply that she had to lie to them again. "Oh, I'm fine! I was studying late again last night and because of that, I tripped down the stairs when I got up this morning. You know, silly me!" She laughed.
The two girls exchanged worried glances. They both knew that something was wrong, but they also didn't want to pry. This discussion has been a continuous cycle for years now, and still, Yashiro and Aoi were unable to unearth the truth. Before they could press further, the bell rang, signaling everyone to sit down in their seats and listen to the teacher.
Since Y/n sat in the back, she was able to let out a sigh and grimace. She was in pain; physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. She turned her head left and right to see if anyone was watching her and pushed the long sleeve of her undershirt up, revealing the bloody bandages she had to scrape together late last night. Y/n winced in pain. She didn't expect the wounds to bleed this badly, so she decided to patch them up during lunch.
The bell eventually rang again to signify the end of class. Everyone cheered and began to pack up their bags for lunch, making small chatter with their friends. Despite the tremendous amount of pain she was in, Y/n packed her things as fast as possible so the blood didn't seep through her sleeves.
"I'm going to the bathroom, so I'll meet you later during lunch, okay?" She said. Aoi and Yashiro smiled sadly, not knowing why their best friend spent so much time in the bathroom for the better part of the year.
"It's okay, we'll catch you later then!" Yashiro spoke lightly. Y/n thanked them once again for understanding and made her way to the abandoned bathroom. Of course, she wasn't just going there to clean her wounds. She intended to hang out with her other friend, one whom Yashiro and Aoi didn't know about.
His name was Hanako-Kun, the 7th of the School Wonders. She had met him by chance almost a year ago when she was trying to replace her bandages in the same bathroom. Y/n was minding her own business until she saw his reflection in the mirror. Not only was she surprised to see a guy in a girl's restroom, but she didn't understand why he was there, to begin with. If he had wanted his privacy, why didn't he just use the abandoned men's bathroom close by?
After a comical conversation about who he was, Y/n discovered that he was an apparition sworn to protect the school. Despite recently meeting him, she was drawn into his warm smile and welcoming eyes.
"You know, I never caught your name, nor why you decided to come to the restroom," He told her. She remembered dismissively replying, mentioning something about being curious and eventually getting lost. Hanako didn't respond, which made Y/n believe yet another person (or ghost in this instance) was satisfied by her answer. It only took him a single week to catch on.
