Elara's POV

It has been exactly nine months since we have seen each other in person. I miss him so much, sometimes I like to cry myself to sleep. He hates it when I cry, but it is so difficult to keep going without him. The other things have been great so far, Yale has been reating me very well, as for my roomate, River and I, we are polar opposites. I have adjusted to her, she doesn't talk much, how would she when her tongue is entangled with every other boy on campus. I have gotten to know almost everyone in our batch and some seniors too, thanks to River.

And right now, as I typed a code for my my project due Friday, a boy was shoving dow his toungue down her throat. I rolled my eyes in disgust and looked at my phone. Archer was probably working on his projects too, or he would have been asleep. I picked up the phone and bit my lip, and put the phone back, not wating to disturb him. This was the worst part of long distance relationships, I always felt like I was disturbing him. These weeks have been epically hectic for him. He had so many projects due, plus his exams were just around the corner. He sounded so tired each time we talked. I bit my cheek and pulled out my earphones and looked at the two of them. I didn't want to put that boy was literally forcing his hand up her shirt and she was trying to pull it away. Sure enough he was making her uncomfortable. I closed my laptop and rushed to him and pulled him off her. He seemed shocked but it was quickly replaced by anger. I raised an eyebrow at him and showed him the door, "Please leave." He gave both of us a look and grabbed his jacket before leaving. River was shedding silent tears and I closed my eyes and let the rage out of me before I comfort her. She was shivering so bad that I had to hug her and comfort her. She cried on my shoulder and I rubbed her back. She lifed her head to say something but I shook my head. I pulled herself off me and threw her a bottle of water. She seemed to have relaxed. I leaned against the frame of my single bed and tought about what happened about a few minutes ago. I looked to see her staring aimlessly at the mess of shoes she had made. Even the room was a contrast, I will totally agree to what Archer calls me, a neat freak, if River accepts that she can't leave a trail of clothes from the bathroom to her bed. Messy bed, clothes tossed everywhere and in between of them, she had lost her most expensive perfume. I almost jumped out of the window when she threw a fit about it. I shook my head, I should be comforting her not criticizing her. It had taken a toll on her. I got up from my bed and pulled her too. She didn't even question when I picked up a warm jacket from the carpet of her clothes and tossed it to her. She wore it and walked out of the door. I grabbed the keys of my car. It was Thursday, which meant tomorrow I had to submit my project also, Sebastian would be here to visit me. He visited me every Friday. I groaned when I knew that I would have to dump her clothes somewhere. Sebastain usually took me out and never came inside my dorm room but I didn't want to take any chances. River was my nightmare, but I have gotten used to it. It was a bit chilly in Nee Haven, but I decided to make a stop at an ice cream parlour. She was so numbed that I had to open the door and pull her out of the passenger seat. She gave me a look and I sighed. She could get on my nerves without even trying. I pulled her into the ice cream parlour. I searched for a seat for us, there was a considerable amount of people enjoying ice cream. She looked at the differnet flavours and then looked up at me. I tapped the silder glass, "It's on me, it will make you feel better." I said and she just gave me a sad smile. I was  not in a mood for ice cream, especially with my over sensaitive teeth. I just asked for a fruit milkshake with fruit loops on th side. We settled on the high stools where we could see the view of the street in front of us. I grabbed a couple of fruit loops and nibbled on them. River was enjoying her mango ice cream. I didn't want her to talk but aslo, I didn't want to be insesinsitive. I brought the straw to my lips and sipped. The cool milkshake left a trail of burning sensation in my throat. Oh shit, strawberries!

I started to cough violently and fell to the floor. My entire life flashed in front of eyes. I felt a pair of arms support me but my vision blurred and I blacked out.

23 HOURS LATER

Sebastian had not left her side since he got the call. Some of her friend had called him when he was in a meeting, he dismissed everyone and flew to the hospital in New Haven. He was sitting right beside Elara who was still unconcious. She suddenly moved her hand and then made a sour face and let ou a small groan. The door to the room opened and Sebastain nodded at the person. Elara screamed in pain when the lights hit her eyes and Sebastian dimmed them. She slowly opened her eyes and put her hand on her throat, "I thought I died. My throat!" She said in a hoarse voice and Sebastian handed her a glass of water. She thanked him and then looked back at him, "What in the world?"

"Thanks to you Nova that you decided to have fruit milkshake with strawberries in it.How do you feel?" He asked and she chuckled when her eyes moved to see the person smiling at her, he was sitting on the couch on the corner of the room. Sebastain raised his eyebrow at her, why hadn't she jumped into his arm yet?

She wiped her eyes with her hands and then looked again at Archer, his hair had grown out and he was a lot muscular than the last time they met. His dimples were popping out when he smiled. She turned to Sebastian and a tear slipped down her eye, "Can you please call the doctor, I think I am having a concussion. Seb, I miss him so much!" Sebastian pulled her into his arms while glancing at Archer who was amused by her reaction. Sebastian comforted her and asked her to look up, "You don't need to miss him anymore, he's here Nova, he's right here." He said and got up after placing a kiss on her forehead. Elara slowly turned her attention to the figure sitting on the couch after Sebastian had let the room. She had a good look at him and more tears escaped till a sob left her mouth. He got up and wrapped his arms around her and kissed her face, "I missed you so much Sunflower. I love you so much!"

"I can't believe you're here. You are here, right?" She asked him and he smiled before placing his lips on hers and kissing her gently. He caressed her hairs, "Before you ask, I took my exams early, I had to come and see my girl" He stated and Elara laughed while hugging him tightly. He burried his face in the crook of her neck, "You scared me so much Sunflower." He whispered causing her to pull away, "I am sorry. My roomate had an episode and I was just trying to comfort her."

"Who? River?" He asked and she rolled her eyes. Typical River.

"And she hasn't kissed you already." She scoffed and Archer pinched her cheeks, "I was saving that one for my girl, but if you insist." He laned closer to her and she closed her eyes. He kissed her deeply and a voice caused them to pull apart.

"River. Thank you." Elara said with no emotions. Archer riased an eyebrow at her, he hadn't seen the cold side of her since they were in high school, almost an year ago.

River sighed and leaned against the wall, "Look, I know you don't like me and I don't like you but thanks for.. thanks for what you did back at there." She hesitated speaking about a boy forcing himself on her. Elara put on her pokerface and nodded, "Thank you too, I would be dead if it weren't for you. I would really like it if you make out either when I'm not in or somewhere else cause it's gross!" She made a disgusted face and River chuckled, "Done. I'll lave you two alone now." She walked out leaving the two of them inside. Archer grabbed his bag, "I got you somehing." He said. Elara smirked, "You sound more and more British."
