The High King

Chapter 5

Varian's POV

"Uhhh",I let out a groan as I stretched my aching muscles on the soft mattress I was lying in

Wait soft mattress?A mattress?Where in the hell was I?

I look around for the first time since I woke up and to say I was shocked would be the understatement of the century.

I was freaking gawking at the luxury surrounding me.

Trying to remember what happened during the last 24 hours,I let out a growl as I remembered that Silas and Alice were also kidnapped by those men.

And if I'm to get my hands on them,so help me goddess I will kill them.

I heard footsteps outside the door and became more alert waiting for the opportunity to pounce on anyone outside this door.

"You're going to wake him up",a hushed voice said outside the door.

"But I just want to see the next king",I heard a feminine voice say.

"Okay but stay behind me,for now he sees us as the enemy ",the first voice said.

"No shit Sherlock ",I shout from my position on the bed.

"Great, he's awake",the first voice said before the door opened to reveal a muscular man with bulging muscles which were straining the T-shirt he wore.

He had a bald head and a straight jawline with a slightly crooked nose which told me he had been in a lot of fights and a set of dull grey eyes .

Behind him walked a girl around my age with a body most girls will die for. She had curves in all the right places which accentuated her body,soft-looking black hair and beautiful blue eyes which got me in a trance once I looked into them.

"Mate",she muttered.

Impossible. I had only one mate and she rejected me the moment she saw me and now this girl claims I'm her mate.

Ignoring her,I turned my attention to the man infront of me who was shocked about the confession the girl made and asked him the reason why I was here.

Why they decided to kidnap me and also put Silas and Alice in danger.

"It's a long story man",he said scratching his bald head.

"I have all the time in the world so you better start speaking before I make you",I growled bringing forth Aries.

I watched with satisfaction as the man cowered in fear before he submitted .

"Alright my king",he said in a deep voice which made me realise  that I was now speaking to his wolf.

"Why was I taken against my will and brought here? Which by the way wasn't friendly at all",I asked.

"In order to teach you how to be the king we need and also help you learn to master your power,we had to bring you here ",his wolf said.

"How do you know who I am?",I asked.

"After your shift, all creatures across the world sensed your presence and began the search for you. It was on the mountain that we sensed your power and knowing that you wouldn't come with us since you didn't trust us,we had to sedate you",he said

"And where is here?",I asked .

"This is the home of the old dragon King and the Vampire King who were banished by the so called Warlock King and the werewolf king in order to make the new Kings rule in their place",he said with hate at the latter part.

"What's your name?"

"I'm Marcel",the man ,Marcel said ,taking control from his wolf.

"Alright Marcel,but i demand to see Alice and Silas soon",I said before I dismissed him and the woman who came with him.

I made my way down the luxurious hallways of this building,still not believing the luxury surrounding me was real.

Tracing my hand on the intricate designs on the walls,I sensed Alice and Silas's scent and followed it to the garden outside the mansion .

This place looked like a freaking Castle and not just a mansion. The garden was decorated with many beautiful flowers and there were statues here and there.

In the garden, were many benches and at the edge of the garden was a gardener who was whistling as he trimmed the hedges.

I couldn't help the smile that erupted on my face as I spotted Silas running from Alice who had a worm in her hand.

"Get it away from me",Silas screamed like a girl as he run about in circle.

"It's just a worm",Alice hollered back.

Just looking at the love between them made me wish I had a sibling,a loving one at that who will always be by my side no matter what. Unfortunately for me,I never had that or an amazing childhood.

All I remember is pain,sorrow,humiliation and mockery.

"Variiii",Alice screamed as she spotted me standing in the garden,snapping me out of my reverie.

"Hey little girl",I said as I embraced her in my arms.

"I've missed you, I got stuck with Silas ever since I woke up and he's no fun at all",she whispered the last part.

"Hey,I'm your brother",Silas said narrowing his eyes at her.

"Unfortunately ",she said snickering.

"That was some speed you had there man. A wolf running from a worm",I said laughing.

Seconds later,Alice and I were on the floor,clutching our stomachs as we laughed our lungs out .

"No one mentions this ever again ",he said with a blush on his cheeks.

I let Alice go back to playing as I spoke with Silas.

"We were brought here so that I could be taught how to master my power",I said to him.

"And I'm so sorry for dragging you into this",I continued.

He let out a sigh as he came to stand beside me.

"It's no problem man,besides you saved our lives back there,we will stay over here with you",he said patting my back.

The hairs on my neck stood as I sensed a presence behind us. Using my speed, I quickly turned ,pinning the person on the ground.

"Oomph",my victim,a blonde man grunted.

"They were right when they said you were the next king. No living creature apart from you has been able to sense my presence for over a 1000 years. ",the blonde man beneath me said.

"Who are you?",I asked the man.

"I'm Lucian Montero ,former Vampire King " ,he said and I slowly released him as I realised who he was.

I couldn't believe I was standing infront of one of the vampires who were alive during the war of the fallen.
