Varian's POV

Someone made their way towards my room as I could hear their loud footsteps as they walked down the hallway.

I couldn't help but groan into my pillow.
Can't a guy sleep in peace?

I mumbled incoherently as I made my way towards the huge oak door. I swung it wide open startling Victoria whose fists were hanging in the air just as she was about to knock on my door.

"What is it?",I groaned.

A look of amusement shot across her face as she took in my appearance. She laughed as she said," Don't you look dreamy?"

Ignoring  her statement am,i took a seat in the couch as she lazily sat on the bed.
She seemed to be pondering over something before she said,"I don't trust the leaders of the pack, something seems fishy but I can't seem to place my hand on what though"

She could sense it,the gloomy atmosphere surrounding the pack.

"I've been having the same thoughts as you. I don't trust anyone in this pack and we're going to have to be careful during our stay here",I said.

She turned her head towards me and a wicked smile stretched across her face.
She stood up casually and said," How about we go for a run?"

"Sure...",I said but stopped when she added"....with 200kg weights attached to our feet.

"Come on",I groaned. Though I could easily lift 200kg,I was too tired to even lift a rock, let alone run with such weights attached to me.

I let out a defeated sigh as she led me towards the back yard that faced the dense forest.

She carefully wrapped the weights around my feet and did the same to hers just before we took off running deep in the woods.

We ducked beneath twigs ,jumped over logs and made rapid turns, heading towards the lake.

She let out giggles as she passed me. I just looked on as she behaved childishly  and gently shook my head with a smile on my face.

It gave me great joy seeing her so happy and carefree. Nobody got to see this side of her.

They always thought her to be cold and heartless and because of that ,she hardly had any friends.

A sudden scream brought me out of my thoughts and Victoria seemed to have heard the scream as she also halted in her tracks.

"Why does that sound so much like Emma?",she drawled out before realisation dawned on both of us as we realised it was indeed Emma.

"Come on let's go ",she continued before we dashed off in the direction the scream came from.

Unknown POV

It'd been a couple of days since the cars that had my brother in them arrived at the pack.

I finally saw him,my little brother.  He looked so powerful and strong. I watched from the shadows as his old pack tried belittling him only to make his creature come out giving them a heavy warning.

I watched as he took out a couple of rogues all by himself and didn't even break a sweat.

"That's my little brother",I thought.

I hadn't gotten the nerve to approach him as I didn't know what I was going to say to him.

One thing I knew though was that now that I've seen him,I won't be leaving his side. Never.

A scream snapped me out of my thoughts and I realised it wasn't too far away from where I was.

Taking in a deep breath,I surrendered my body to the shadows and before I realised,my body had dematerialized becoming one with the shadows around me.
