Chapter 11

Varian's POV

It's been four days since the appearance of the rogues. Killing them was easy but what i didn't understand was how 10 of them were able to sneak into the pack without being detected especially with security being tightened because of my team's arrival.

Training had started but some of the pack members didn't feel like cooperating with us. However, we weren't going to take such disrespect lightly. No matter how much they complained,we kept on increasing the intensity of their training.

Something was definitely going on in this pack.

Shrugging this feeling of unease off, I made my way towards the pack's kitchen.

Walking down the corridors of the pack house,I couldn't help but notice that all the members that passed by were either trembling with fear or trying their possible best to not be noticed by me.

I guess Aries warning them made them realise just how wrong they've been all this while.

I stopped in my tracks as I noticed her scent coming from the kitchen.I wasn't paying complete attention when he said that but why in the hell did Lucian have to let her tag along.

I wasn't ready to accept the entire mate thing. Not after what Valerie did.

Putting on a cold look, I walked into the kitchen to find Silas,Emma and two of our warriors eating on the kitchen island.

"Your majesty",Silas says as he bowed to me. Just as the other two warriors tried to stifle a laugh. They all knew how uncomfortable it made me when my comrades bowed before me.

Looking at his head bowed before me,I smacked him behind the head .

"Ouch,what was that for?",he said rubbing the spot I had just hit  .

"I told you not to bow when we're alone,how dumb are you?",I said walking past him to the fridge.

Training was in 20 minutes . I needed a quick meal. Scanning through the fridge, I took out the carton of milk and set it on the island to make myself a bowl of cereal.

It's funny how 6 months ago, I wasn't allowed to eat anything from the kitchen apart from leftovers. Things have indeed changed.

"So what do you think about the pack members, do you think today they'll be more cooperative?",Silas asks me.

We've all had trouble training the pack. It's clear as day that they despise me and though the feeling is mutual, it's my mission to train them and nothing they do is going to change that.

"They will cooperate unless they want me to bring Aries out",I said.

"Aries?",Silas asked looking scared. Although Aries sees him as a brother and will never hurt him, Silas is still afraid of what Aries can do.

He's the high king afterall, the most powerful creature alive.

Deciding not to answer Silas, I headed towards the training grounds to find the pack members waiting.

When they saw me coming out of the pack house,they quickly bowed. Guess they're really afraid of Aries.

"Alright ,today we will be sparring. I'm giving you 5 minutes to choose your sparring partners and head towards the sparring mats you'll be using.

I chose Silas as my sparring partner since he was the only one who could spar with me without being overwhelmed by my speed and strength.

" Today I'll be teaching you the most basic thing you need to know in combat and that is defense. Judging by the situation with the rogues. It will be best to know how to defend yourselves in case you get ambushed "

"First of all,you'll learn to defend yourselves against your opponents in human forms....

I'll say the pack's attitude today was pretty good. They were finally cooperating and seemed to take interest in what we were teaching them.

After sparring for 3 hours, I decided to teach them how to defend themselves against wolves when they're in they're human forms.

"Alright a member from each group should shift into their wolves . I'll be teaching you how to defend yourselves against wolf attacks",I said as I  watched them shift into their wolves.

There was nothing special about their wolves though, just the normal werewolves.

"Alright we'll..."

" Who do you think you are? Coming to my pack and disrespecting me. I'm the future queen of the werewolves ",I heard an annoying voice say.

Everyone moved their attention to where the commotion was coming from and I was surprised to see who Valerie was yelling at.

There she stood,taking in deep breaths trying to control herself.

"You think you're tough huh? Why don't you fight me here and now?",Valerie said to Emma as her eyes color changed. She may be a bitch but she was also a royal. She was way stronger than the average wolf.

"If that's what you want",I heard Emma say. Just looking at the two of them standing there,I couldn't help but notice the difference between the two women .

Valerie was beautiful Alright but Emma surpassed her in many ways. How come I never noticed how beautiful she was,especially when she's mad.

"That's because you've been ignoring mate you fool",Aries said.

"Shut up ",I said before blocking me.

He was right though, I shouldn't be ignoring her. She was my mate . I just have a hard time accepting that.

A loud growl brought me out of my thoughts and I watched as a huge brown wolf stood at where Valerie was standing a few seconds ago.

Some of the pack members immediately submitted when they sensed Valerie's aura but my team just stood there unflinching.

I watched as Emma's eye color changed to a blazing orange and the temperature around us rose.

There's no denying it,she's indeed the princess of the dragons.

I watched as the two princesses leapt at each other. A werewolf against a dragon. I wonder how it's going to turn out ....
