Narrator's POV
A week had passed and still no letter. Y/n was wondering if she would still go to a school when there was a tapping at the window. She looked up and almost tripped over something when going to retrieve the owl from outside. When she took the letter from its beak, she could hardly contain her excitement. She immediately fed the owl some treats and abandoned it on the window sill.
Y/n tumbled down the stairs, earning a, "Be careful, miss!" from one of the house elves. "Mum! Dad! I got it!" she squealed, waving the letter around, running around to find her parents in the kitchen. They both looked up to see their daughter waving a letter around, triumphantly.
They jumped up to look over Y/n's shoulder as she tore the envelope open
(A/n: I'm just improvising, sorry):
Dear Ms. Lysander,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31.

Y/n flipped the letter to find the stuff she needed to buy from a place called Diagon Alley. She squealed in delight and turned to her parents, face glowing (Beauxbatons was sorta boring...).

Y/n's POV
It's a week before September 1st! I can't wait to go to Diagon Alley! I had to go by myself (mum and dad were working *rolls eyes*) and I got lost a few times, until this bus, the Knight Bus, I heard, came around and I told them that I wanted to go to the Leakey Cauldron. When we got to the place, a shabby black building that all the muggles passed.
I went in and asked around for where Diagon Alley was. A kind witch pointed me the way and told me the instructions. I did as she told and I started staring as the brick wall transformed into an arch, revealing a place, bustling with witches and wizards.
I weaved around the the people in the alley and when I finished buying my stuff (which I had shoved into my bag), I decided to get a pet for myself instead of using the family owl, Pepper. I chose two pets; a black cat (Shadow), and an owl (Stardust).
I made my way to the bookstore again, carrying two cages, I went in, to kill some time. I went to the Dark Darts section and reached for a book that I hadn't read yet. I leaned on a bookshelf, skimming the book to see if I didn't know anything yet, which I knew most of the stuff in there.
