The door quietly creaked open and my Aunt Ciara came in, "Hey," She whispered. Kai still holding me in his arms leaned against the headboard of my bed, "She asleep?"
Kai nodded, "Yeah," He whispered.
My Aunt sat down on the edge putting her hand on my shoulder, "I heard about what Cyril did."
"Yeah well, he's not got much room to talk."
"Yes, well, you both try very hard for your kids..."
"Every time, I pick Aza over everyone... but if she had to choose me I don't think she will."
"Kai, you can't be too hard on yourself... We all know what happened. But it's time you tell her the whole truth. No more of this need-to-know basis you'll tell her everything. Tomorrow before we leave for Boston."
Kai brushed the loose hairs behind my ear, "I will."
"And about the other things... He was taken care of and there's nothing to worry about."
"I can't believe she saw me do that. Ciara the look on her face was absolutely mortified... I don't know if I can come back from that."
"Well, you're doing something right... She's gonna choose you," Kai simply nodded, "Alright I'm gonna head to bed."

"I brought breakfast," My grandma pushed the door open holding two plates. She handed me one plate and Kai the other as we sat on the bed.
I sat criss-cross in the middle of the bed happily eating the chocolate chip pancakes, "Hey Kai? What time is the flight tonight?"
"We board at 6 pm and it's a five-hour flight so we'll get in about 2:30 am local time."
"And the funerals the next morning?"
"Well it's not till 1 pm but yes."
"What hotel we staying in?"
"None actually... When we go to Boston we stay at the actual family house."
"Actual family house?"
"Yeah... It's this big Mansion on the outskirts... looks a lot like a castle. It was the family home before your grandparents moved out here. Which reminds me... Aza I really need to talk to you... uninterrupted."
"About what?"
"About yesterday, and everything I've been trying to tell you."
"Kai... I think I already figured it out."
He gave me a weird look, "I'm not stupid. The tons of money, but no real business, the family running it... the gun was a huge piece of the puzzle. And finally, I caught Sutton slipping up the other day in the car. He said you took the most dangerous part of the job cause you had nothing to lose. So yeah I know what you are."
"And that is?"
"A gangster."
He groaned and covered his face with a pillow, "I hate that word," He muttered.
"What do you want me to call you?"
"Dad?"
"Not yet."
He groaned "Alright fine."
"So it's true."
"What is?"
"About what you are."
"Unfornetly yes, but Aza, I'm not gonna let anyone hurt you."
"I know."
