Meme POV

Meme couldn't wait to meet his soulmate. When they turned 18, half of the people in the world received a locket that had a picture of their soulmate in it. He had been waiting for this day ever since Tbh mentioned it in preschool. He had a bit of a crush on him but was waiting to see who his soulmate was. Finally, his alarm rang, signaling that it was time to start getting ready. Half of the school would getting their lockets today. When he finally arrived at school, he was told to go to the auditorium for the assembly. He went there and texted Tbh.

Definetly_A_Doctor: Where r u?

Tbh texted back a few seconds later.

Crab_Man: I got a seat in the back, far right corner, hurry up!

Meme scanned the auditorium and saw Tbh's signature Mr. Krabs sweatshirt exactly where he said he was. He hurried up and slid into the seat next to him. 

"Are you excited?" he asked. 

"Yeah!" said Tbh enthusiastically. Meme grinned and they silently waited for the lockets to be announced.

Time skip to after lockets are announced

"I can't believe that you got a locket, I didn't, and you won't tell me who you got in yours." Meme complained. Tbh just grinned and told Meme that he couldn't tell him who it was. Suddenly, someone came running up to him. It was the popular girl, Drew. She squealed and hugged him. 

"What are you doing?" Meme asked, disgusted, as he pushed her off of him. 

"Well, babe, I'm your soulmate!" 

Gross...

(A/N In this AU, the lockets have different rules, Tbh's prevents him from telling anyone and Drew's prevents her from showing people.)

Meme couldn't believe his luck. Of course, it was her. He turned to Tbh and made a face. Tbh just smiled sadly and told him to go hang out with his soulmate. They hung out and she was being way too clingy, but Meme kept telling himself that he could deal with it, this was his soulmate.

Time skip 5 years

 Meme's heart was fluttering. He couldn't believe that he was getting married! Even though he was out of his mind with excitement, he got the feeling that something was wrong and he was making a mistake. He shook the thoughts out of his head and waited for the bride. When she finally got up there, they exchanged vows or whatever(Idk what weddings are like, sorry lmao), and then came the big moment. the moment his life changed.

"Anyone object?" asked the pastor. What happened next seemed to happen in slo-mo. Tbh stood up and yelled that he did and everyone turned to look at him. Meme stared at him, hurt. How could he ruin his wedding day? He thought that they were friends. Then Tbh started talking.

"Meme, I've been keeping something from you. You seemed really happy, so I didn't want to ruin it, but we've been friends since preschool. I can tell when you don't really want to do something. And I think that you've just convinced yourself that you love her. But... I'm your soulmate!"

"Wait, if you can't tell people who your soulmate is, how are you telling me?" asked Meme.

"Oh, I took it off," 

Meme turned to Drew and asked why she lied to him. She broke down and said that she loved him but she had someone else in her locket. He turned away and headed down the aisle with Tbh.

"Why didn't you tell me before?" Meme asked as they walked back to his house.

"You seemed like you were happy with her," 

"I guess I thought I was happy with her,"

They got back to Meme's house and Tbh blushed and leaned in to give Meme a hesitant kiss on the cheek. He turned around and started to leave. Meme grabbed his hand and hugged him.

"Stay," he whispered into his ear. They walked inside and Meme changed into comfy clothes. He went downstairs to find that Tbh had stolen one of his hoodies and had sat down to choose a movie. They got settled and eventually fell asleep cuddling. It had been an exhausting day.
