(A/N Joocie's face reveal, I found it on his Twitter! Here's his Twitter:https://twitter.com/Joocie_?s=20 Enjoy the story!)
Joocie laughed as he dragged Laff up to the roof of his apartment building. They were recreating their first date, a picnic on top of their apartment. They had an amazing night of looking at stars and sharing snacks and were about to recreate their first kiss. They leaned in and their lips were about to meet when the old, rusty railing crumbled.
Laff tumbled off the side, not very far, but he hit his head on a fire escape with a sickening thud. Joocie panicked and dove for his phone. He somehow managed to get all the details to the paramedics, and Laff was transported to the hospital. After calming down, Joocie changed and drove to the hospital. He sat in the waiting room, stressing. The doctor came out, looking grim.
"Is he alive?" asked Joocie anxiously.
"Yes...but he lost his memory,"
"What does that mean?" asked Joocie, feeling stupid.
"He'll still remember how to do basic things, like walking or talking, but he won't remember memories or people. I'm sorry." Joocie sat down, trying to comprehend. Laff wouldn't remember him or anything they'd done together? The doctor informed him that since Laff would probably be disoriented, they'd be presenting Joocie as just a friend.
Just then, Socks and the rest of the gang burst through the door. Right. Joocie forgot that he'd asked the hospital to call them. They surrounded him and began asking questions. Joocie began to cry, it was all too much. He ran to the bathroom and sat there, sobbing. After a few minutes, he heard a knock at the door.
"Joocie?" Asked Tbh's soft voice. "We're sorry, please come out," Joocie instantly felt guilty. He wasn't the only one who was worried about Laff. He splashed some water on his face and came out of his hidey-hole.
"I'm sorry," He said to his friends, trying not to break down again. They all hugged him and they sat down nervously, awaiting the doctor. After five long minutes, the doctor came out and said they were ready for Joocie. Everybody else protested, but one look from Joocie and they relented. Joocie walked in, preparing himself for what lay inside. He sat on the edge of the bed and looked at Laff, who was staring at him blankly.
"Who are you?" asked Laff. Joocie choked back a sob. He'd known what was coming, but hearing it from Laff was way worse than from a random doctor.
"Well? I really would like to know," said Laff, getting impatient.
"I'm your...best friend," said Joocie. "All of your other friends are waiting outside." He pointed to the small window on the door, where everyone was trying to see what was happening. Laff gave a small smile at the ridiculous sight.
"Can you let them in? I want to meet them." Joocie nodded and opened the door, motioning for them to be quiet. They luckily understood and the rest of the trip went smoothly. Laff was let out and they went back to Joocie's apartment. Laff waited in the lobby, struggling to remember something, while Joocie removed any evidence that they'd been dating. Laff walked in as he put the last photo away. They sat down and began to talk.

Joocie: what?
Live_Laff_Loaf: I'm bored
Joocie: coming...
He walked down the stairs to find Laff sprawled out on the couch, scrolling through his phone. Joocie saw his chance and leaped onto the couch to tickle Laff. By the time he was done, Laff was gasping for breath.
"Oh, gods... stop...can't breathe..." Joocie smiled and hopped up to get a drink. He poured himself some water and went to ask Laff if he wanted any. He walked into the living room to find Laff scrolling through his phone, looking hurt. He slid onto the couch and gently took his phone back. He silently cursed himself when he saw that Laff was looking at pictures he'd taken while they were dating.
Why didn't I delete those?
Laff scooted to the other end of the couch, away from Joocie. Joocie figured he'd need some time, so he left him there. Laff noticed Joocie looking at him and stormed upstairs. Joocie heard a door slam and a small crash.
Joocie: r u ok?
He got a little concerned when Laff didn't answer. He walked upstairs and tried to open the door, but it was locked.
"Laff? I'm sorry, you don't have to talk to me but please come out," No answer. Joocie had lost hope until he heard the door unlock. Laff walked out with his suitcase and slowly went down the stairs.
"Laff, no, please come back," Joocie begged. Laff ignored him, but a ripple of doubt crossed his face. He walked out the door and didn't look back.

Joocie groaned as his alarm beeped, waking him up. He'd just moved to start his new job, and he was starting that day. He got up and changed, then went to the kitchen to grab a muffin. He grabbed his stuff, walked out the door, and began driving to work. He checked in, found his desk, and began to get organized. Soon after he finished, his neighbor came over.
"Hi, I'm Laff, I just wanted to say hi because I saw you were new." He said, sticking out his hand. Joocie shook it and hesitantly said,
"I'm Joocie," He saw Laff's face fall as he said his name. Laff turned and walked back to his desk, visibly mad. Joocie sighed. What'd he expect? That Laff would magically forgive him and it would all work out? Life wasn't a fairy tale. He got back to work and almost forgot about it. Joocie tried to talk to Laff at lunch, but Laff ignored him. He probably deserved it, but it hurt his heart to know that Laff hated him.
Laff POV
Laff knew that he was in love with Joocie. He also knew that Joocie hated him. He had lost all memory of them dating and was a completely different person. He'd probably made it worse by storming out when he'd found out. He figured it would be better if he acted mad, but he couldn't keep it up forever. He walked back to his desk and found a sticky note on his laptop. The note said: Meet me on the roof in five minutes. He thought about who could've sent it as he walked to the roof.
Joocie POV
Joocie waited nervously on the roof. He hoped Laff would come, he always had been curious. The door opened and Laff walked out. Joocie stepped in front of the door, blocking the exit.
"Laff, please listen. I'm so sorry. The doctors said I couldn't tell you and I wanted to but they wouldn't let me. I'll delete the photos if you want, but I only kept them for the memories. Laff spun around.
"Joocie?" He asked.
"Yeah?"
"Are you mad at me?" Joocie looked confused.
"Why would you think that?"
"Well, I'm not the Laff from before, and I sorta overreacted when I found out about...yeah," Joocie laughed.
"I was so worried about you. I wasn't mad, just sad that you weren't talking to me and annoyed at myself for not deleting the photos. Laff sighed in relief. Joocie held his arms out for a hug. Laff walked into them and whispered into Joocie's ear,
"By the way, I think I'm in love with you...again." Joocie smiled and Laff leaned in. They kissed and it was at that moment that Joocie realized he was more in love than ever before.
What do you think? Sorry for not uploading, I've been lazy! Also, my mental health isn't great, but when is it ever! I will try to update, but no promises because my mom doesn't get the idea of relaxing during the summer. Should I make a chapter full of me filling out prompts for ideas I have that are really short? As always, remember to comment ships or ideas!
