After announcements were done Dex and Sophie separated from their respective classes. Dex paid attention for the majority of the time, but for the rest of school from lunch onward he started considering new weapons to use against the Neverseen. His Sucker Punch's already worked pretty well, but against psionopaths and Chargers the gadgets were pretty much useless.
He needed to make a ranged weapon. Maybe upgraded melders? No, the Neverseen would be expecting that. He needed something conspicuous, but light enough for him and his friends to carry.
The sound of his elvin history mentor saying something interrupted Dex's musings.
"I'm sorry, you were saying?"
Sir Belstram sighed.
"You need to pay better attention, Mr. Dizznee. "
"What I was saying is that when Taborlin discovered a way to harness creation energy, he withdrew from the human assistance program. He had good reason to, though. Who knows what havoc humans would have created if they got their hands on an energy strong enough to absorb abilities?
His mentor shuddered. "Taborlin did a great deed that day." he commented.
Sir Belstram continued to lecture about the rest of Taborlin the great's deeds, but Dex wasn't paying much attention.
Creation energy might just be the source they needed to defeat the Neverseen.
That is, if Dex could replicate the work of the greatest technopath in history
