A story of an elderly loving couple. The husband had terminal illness and the wife was the carer. They received the best care from a multidisciplinary team. Unfortunately, the husband died.
The wife was grieving for a long time and wished that if there was a way she could have died to save her husband. I responded by sharing a song with her. The song was dedicated to a loving elderly couple who were discussing who should die first. I translated the song:
"....When we are both old, I want you to die first because you won't have the heart-wrenching memory of my death, and I will say goodbye to you in tears..."
The patient thanked me for sharing the song. This is my first experience of using song in treating a patient.❤️
