Lost - Bucky Barnes

Chapter 4

Adira pushed her small frame through the large crowd as she looked for the familiar face of her boyfriend. Steve had decided to just go home after the two of them had finally been excepted into the army. Adira couldn't believe that she had finally done it, she made it. She was the first female soldier in existence and she couldn't be more excited, she just had to tell Bucky.

There was music playing loudly as she pulled herself between all of the bodies, and finally, she found Bucky, he was talking to a male bartender with two drinks in front of him. Bucky spotted her and quickly thanked the man before grabbing the drinks and walking over to Adira with a sympathetic look on his face "look I'm sure that eventually they will l-"

"I'm in" Adira spat out excitedly and Bucky stood there with his mouth agape not knowing what to do or say but suddenly a giant, proud smile was established on his lips as he stepped forward and pulled the girl into his arms, careful not to spill the drinks on her.

"I cant believe it" he said and pulled away from the hug, both of them had giant smile on their faces as he pulled her in for a kiss and then handed her, her drink and then stuck out his arm for her to hook her arm around "well i guess we better celebrate" they downed the two drinks and left them on the bar and then walked out onto the floor and she wrapped her arms around his shoulders while he wrapped his arms firmly around her waist and pulled her agaisnt him and the two of them began to sway to the music

"Steve got in too" Adira added and Buckys smile only widened. a slow song began to play over them and Adira placed her head agaisnt Buckys head as he swayed them slower to match the beat of the music

"I cant believe the two of you finally got in, im so proud of you both" Bucky commented with a smile as he burried his face into her neck and occasionally placed small kisses on her delicate skin. 

The two of them danced the night away until it was time to leave and as they stopped dancing and began to walk towards their small shared apartment Adira couldnt help but notice the sad look on Buckys face as they walked down the street.

"Hey whats wrong?" Adira asked him softly and he didnt look down at her, instead he continued to look ahead and as she saw the small tear run down his face she immedietly knew why he wouldnt look at her. He hated her seeing him cry.

She stopped walking and tugged on his hand making him stop walking too, she walked in front of him and stopped, she grabbed both of his hands tightly in her own and looked up at him with pleading eyes "hey Bee, dont shut me out okay. Tell me whats wrong... please" he let out a small sigh and then looked down at her, his eyes were bloodshot and his cheeks were pink

"What if we don't make it out of this, what if something happens to one of us" he looked like he was about to break down at any moment "I have loved you since I was 4 fucking years old and ever since the  day i met you, I couldnt ever picture making it through a day without you, and now we arent going to see each other for god knows how long. And whats worse, is we might not see each other again, ever. I... I just cant lose you"

"You're not going to lose me James. It's me you and Steve remember? Till the end of the line." she muttered and he couldnt help but chuckle at the promise the three of them had made so many years ago

"Till the end of the line" he repeated and let go off one of her hands and sent her a smile and a nod and the two of them began walking again until they got back home.

"recruits attention!" A woman called loudly as she walked over to the line that was full of men... and one girl who clearly stood out "Gentlemen..." her eyes landed on you and she gave you a proud smile "and ladies, I am Agent Carter. I supervise all operations for this division"
