Adira pulled herself off the bed and looked around to see Steve in a crowd of people, a very different looking Steve to the one that she had known since she was 4 years old. She looked down at her wrist and a small smile was brought to her lips as she noticed the small design etched into her wrist, the design that she received when she was mad a Valkyrie at 13 years old. She felt physically stronger though she knew she didn't look any stronger than she did previously
Erskine grinned at her, he was right, but he didn't know what this really meant for the world. It was magnificent, a warrior from Asgard was right in front of him, and he was the one who awakened her powers. Suddenly there was a loud explosion and the glass shattered over above them, racing down on everyone. Adira fell to her knees, feeling extremely weak, her limbs felt heavy as her power continued to awaken inside of her, she struggled to move.
"Stop him!" Erskine exclaimed as a man quickly reached over and grabbed onto the remaining vials. The man pulled out a gun and went to shoot Erskine but Adira quickly pushed Erskine out of the way, getting shot in the side. The man shot at Erskine with the remainder of his rounds and Erskine dropped dead on the ground. Adira looked at him in shock, she couldn't save him. Peggy shot the man who took the vials but he got away
Steve ran over to them both with worry in his eyes and sadness as he looked at Erskine "go get him Steve" she mourned out to him and winced as she looked down at her leg which was bleeding heavily. Steve nodded and ran after him as Peggy raced over to Adira and tied a piece of cloth around her leg tightly to slow the bleeding
"No no it's alright I'll be fine" adira explained and unwrapped it then stuck her fingers in and fished out the bullet, the two of them watched as the wound began to heal "I'm weak at the moment but I'll be fine soon" she said and gave Peggy a reassuring nod. Peggy just smiled and stared at the wound in amazement
Steve had returned and was checked over by the nurse, they took his blood, hoping that they would be able to remake the serum. The world had now found out about "captain America" and adira couldn't have been more proud, and she was still waiting for Hodge to pay up that $20. Steve had even been playing in shows as people all around America came to see the man that they believed would win them the war.
Adira walked behind the stage, the crowd was roaring excitedly for Steve to come out from behind the curtains. Adira walked around for a bit until she finally found him adjusting his helmet in the mirror, she smiled softly before walking over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder as she looked at him through the mirror
"God I'm so proud of you Steve. Just wait till Buck sees you, he won't believe it" she said to him and smiled softly as she thought about the person who meant the most to her in this world, just because she found out who she really was, it didn't really seem to change anything "you're parents would be so proud too"
"Thanks Addy" Steve said and smiled at her softly through the mirror. They hadn't really talked much recently due to all the popularity that Steve had picked up, they were never really around each other and Adira was out training trying to make sure her body could handle all her returning power. But the two of them talked to each other as often as they could "so how is everything going with all this Asgardian stuff? I mean, do you need to go back?" He seemed sad as he asked her this but he kept a smile on his face
"I might go back one day, but definitely not any time soon. My duty is to protect earth for a while now" she said but then let out a small sigh "but I do need to leave for a little bit"
"What? Why?" Steve asked her in confusion, where was she going.
"I have a feeling I know where all of my gear is so I have to go and get it" she said and elbowed the man playfully "don't worry. I'll only be gone for a few days if eve that" he nodded his head, sure they hadn't talked much recently but she was still there for him, he didn't know what he was going to do with both Adira and Bucky away, but he was captain America now, he had to do this, he had to be strong for his country and he shouldn't be relying on his friends to look after him any more
"Alright, well just make sure you come back to me in one piece" Steve commented and she nodded her head and then pulled Steve in for a hug, he rested his head on top of hers and she buried her head in his chest
"I can't wait for this to all be over, we can be with Bucky again, and the three of us can all move away... well I guess some of that might have to change one considering the new circumstances" she said and chuckled a little bit as she pulled away from the hug and then raised her hand to her head in salute then pulled it back down to her side "I'll see you again soon" she smiled and then she left
She walked over to Phillips "do you think I could borrow a helicopter?" She asked him and he raised his eyebrows but then nodded his head
"Knock yourself out soldier. It's good to have you fighting with us, just make sure you come back alright" Phillips commented and she nodded her head and smiled up at him, he didn't know her that well but he knew that he could trust her and from what he had seen over the past few months of having her in his squad, he knew she was a good person
She left the Showgrounds and ran back to the army base which wasn't too far, she felt the wind blow through her hair as she used her super speed to run as fast as she could and finally she made it back to the base. She greeted all the soldiers kindly and then made her way over the the planes. She hauled herself into one, pulling on her seatbelt and pressing a button which made the door shut.
It wasnt long until she was soaring through the air, the wind kissed the sides of the plane as she flew through the night, as she looked into the sky and admired the stars she couldnt help but think of asgard. She wonded if it was still standing, what it was like up there since the valkyrie had got rid of Hela. Had Hela returned? no, if she had then earth wouldnt be like this, infact it probably wouldnt be here at all
She sighed, hours later she landed the plane. It was out in the desert in the middle of nowhere and there was a small cave, she was glad that she remembered it and its location. The door to the plane opened and she jumped out, making her way to the cave and walking inside. The moonlight didnt reach into the cave, but she could still see where she was going anyway.
Finally she stopped at the dead-end of the cave and sent her fist flying into the wall in front of her, a layer of rock tumbled down and a large hole was revealed and inside the hole was her armour, dragonfang (her sword), her daggers, and her Asgardian spear and lastly she pulled out her headpiece. The headpiece that was crowned on her head as she was announced leader and queen of the valkyrie.
She pulled her armour on and placed her spear and sword on her back before sheathing her daggers in at each ankle and one on each side of her waist. Lastly, she pulled the headpiece onto her head, and if you asked her, she wouldn't be able to describe how amazing it felt.
She made her way back to the plane and then back to her best friend, her best friend who was now a superhero.
