Lost - Bucky Barnes

Chapter 6

Peggy lead Steve and Adira over to the doctor who smiled at the three of them kindly "good morning" he welcomed them and shook all of their hands and someone took a picture of the two of them "please, not now" Erskine interupted and the man walked away "Are you ready?" the two of them nodded "good now take off your shirts, hats and Steve take off your tie. Adira you can keep on your undershirt" Ersine commented and Adira nodded thankfully and then the two of them began to undress themselves

There were two machines with benches ontop for them to lay on, chords were surrounding them. They each shared a worried look before Adira gave Steve a reasuring smile and the two of them each laid out on one of the machines

"comfortable?" Erskine asks them both as he stands inbetween the two machines they were each on

"its a little big" Steve comments

"Its a little cold" Adira commented at the same time and Erskine chuckled softly at the both of them "did you save as any of that wine? Cause i think we are gonna need it after this" Adira muttered to the man with a small chuckle

"not as much as i should have. Sorry" Erskine replied sheepishly and the two of them grinned playfully at each other "next time. Mr Stark, how are your levels?" Adira and Steve both looked up in surprise at the mention of the familar name

"Levels at 100% Good" Howard commented as he walkd down the stairs and stood between the two soldiers "we may dim half of the lights in Brooklyn, but we are ready... as we'll ever be"

"Agent Carter, dont you think that you will be more comfortable in the booth?" Erskine asks and points up the top, not wanting her to get in the way or get hurt if something went wrong

"Yes, of course. Sorry" Peggy quickly apologises and then turns around and rushes up to the booth with everyone else but not before sending one last smile over at Steve.

Erskine begins to flick the microphone trying to gather the attention of everyone who had come to watch "do you hear me? is this on? Ladies and Gentlemen today we take not another step towards annihilation, but the first step on the path to peace." a group of men begin to carry the lids over to the two soldiers and place it over them. Adira immedietly closes her eyes, hating being in small, tight spaces. 

Her breating picked up and she kept her eyes clenched shut as Erksine continued to talk "we begin with a series of microinjections into the subjects major muscle groups." they opened a case full of blue vials but at the end there was one white one that seemed to be glowing slightly "the serum infusion will cause immediete cellular change" they attached six blue vials to Steves machine and the one white one into Adiras "And then, to stimulate growth and subject A will be saturated with vita rays. Subject B, will not be getting any formula, i am just conducting a small experiment of my own, so pay not attention to subject B, the only reason she is being experimented on at the same time is to cause only one major blackout in the city instead of two" Erskine lied but everyone somehow believed him except for the people who knew what was really happening, Steve, Adira, Howard, Phillips and Erskine.

They were injected, it was only a light sting "that wasnt so bad" Steve commented and Adira tried not to laugh, knowing that the thing they were injected with was only penicillin 

"Stevo, that was only Penicillin" Adira commented and Steve suddenly lost all of the colour in his face "hey listen to  me, this is going to be fine alright, we are going to be fine" she sent him a small smile, but she wasnt sure if she believed the words that were comming out of her own mouth

"serum infusion beginning in... five, four, three, two, one" Erskine nodded over at Howard who pushed a lever up which allowed the serum to go through the tubes and through the needles right into the two soldiers. They suddenly felt a sharp pain throughout there body... all of the formula was in. Erskine looked over at Howard "now Mr Stark" Stark pulled a lever which made the machine that steve was laying on begin to slide up so he was in a standing position as he was strapped tightly to the machine, however Adiras stayed down as Erskine didnt want the risk of people finding out what she actually was, or it would be likely she would be put in a lab for the rest of her extremely long life

Adira couldnt hear anything as the lid was fastened on the machine over the top of her, all she could hear was her soft panicked breathing. Her head was beginning to ache and her arms felt heavy. She pictured bucky in her mind, she imagined his soft voice comforting her as she laid there experienceing one of the worst amounts of pain she had felt... well from what she could remember.

Suddenly pictures began flashing through her mind and she passed out, she was falling, everything around her was black, it were as if she were in an endless pool of darkness and she would just continue to keep on falling forever.

Suddenly she was in a giant, beautiful room made of gold with beautiful paintings hung up around her. She looked around and she was amongst a crowd of girls in armour and long blue capes, she didnt recognize any of them and yet she felt she had known them all of her life and suddenly she remembered, she remembered everything. 

She rememeberd when she first swore her alligence to protecting her throne, she remembered fighting along side her family, she remembered the thrill she got from protecting her home land, she rememberd being apponited as head of the Valkyrie, she remembered everything about her life on Asgard and lastly she remembered the downfall and slaughter of the Valkyrie, how they were all sent down to the underworld by Odin to try and fight of Hela. She remembered watching as her people were all slaughtered one by one, they put up a great fight but in the end they had lost.

Then she suddenly appeared in the underworld again, she was surrounded by the hundreds of bodies of her fallen commrades, she was cradling a young one who looked to be only 15 at the oldest, a man appeared before her, he was cloaked and had a hood over his head. A staff was in his hand and he pointed it down at the girl who was barely clinging onto her life as blood seeped out of the wounds that covered her body "You will go down to earth, and protect them. There is much chaos and destruction among them. You will be placed on earth as a youngling and grow to live your life aging as a human and protecting those in need, you will not know who you are and you will not be aware of the true you until it is time. You will die and continue to be reborn until the time when the world needs a warrior the most nears"

"What do you mean?" the warrior leader choked out softly

"When fate decides that the time is right, you will know" the man muttered and mumbled something under his breath and then everything went black.

Adiras eyes shot open and a large gasp escaped from her mouth, she looked around and she was back inside of Starks machine. She remembered everything, she knew who she was. The lid was suddenly removed and she was met with the smiling face of Erskine "well?" he asked her softly

"I remember everything"
