"Do you think-"

"Shutup. It's fine. She's alright."

"Harry, it's been over a day! I'm not sure"

"Dan just stop. She's fine"

This was the conversation I overheard as darkness surrounded me. My head was pounding and every part of my body hurt. I tried to open my eyes to see where I was, and who was around me. I couldn't. I struggled to get them open but I just couldn't. I couldn't move anything.

"Wait, what about her sister?"

Shit. Annabel. Now I really tried give any sign of movement to tell the two boys that I was awake. I pried my eyes open with all my strength. I blinked a few times before realizing I was in a house. A house. I haven't been in one for years. A real one.

"She's awake!" the brunette to my left exclaimed. "No shit Sherlock I have eyes too you know" retorted the curly haired one to my right. I laughed at his comeback before realizing that it was the boy from the alley. The one who was getting beat up.

"You feeling okay love?" he asked me. My heart fluttering at his politeness as I nodded yes.

"W-where am I?" I asked confused, looking around the dark room. Taking in my surroundings.

"My house. I took you back here after those guys left. You were a real hero you know. I could have been dead without you. Thanks." he gushed, causing me to blush and let out a faint "you're welcome"

The brunette sat there awkwardly as he fumbled with his fingers. "Do you need anything? Ice pack, water?" he asked.

"No I'm good. Thank you though. But, can I just have one thing?" I asked, still waking up from my unconscious state.

"Of course babe. Anything. Shoot" the curly one said, with a big smile that showed off his perfect white teeth, and ire dimples.

"My sister" I said quietly with worry crossing my mind. The boys looked at each other. Almost as if they knew j would ask. They gave a small nod to one another as curly started to talk. He opened his mouth, about to say something, but then shut it.

"Harry here, was um-" said the brunette. So that's his name. Harry.

"Harry....just tell her." the brunette said after a long pause. He looked at Harry who was staring out the window, pain in his voice as her spoke.

"Um yeah...your sister...well she...." he started. Voice cracking with every word. My heart sunk as he paused, revising the explanation he was about to give me.

"After the fight was over, and the guys left", he started "I ran over to you. You were unconscious, barley breathing. I knew you had a sister so I scanned the area, looking for her. I didn't know her name, so I could call anyone. I ran down the street, around the corner, everywhere around that alley. I couldn't find her. I'm sorry" he finished, his voice getting quieter with every word.

I was speechless. I couldn't comprehend what was happening. Annabel was gone. Nowhere to be found. She could be dead for all I know. Where is she? Where did she run? Did those guys take her? All of these questions raced through my mind, as I was snapped back into reality.

"You okay? You look as pale as a ghost. I'm so sorry. I should've watched where she ran after she was let go" Harry said, with sympathy in his tone of voice.

"I- I" I chocked out. A stinging pain washed over my whole body. Causing me to feel weak, and vulnerable. Two things I never allowed myself to have. I had to be strong for Annabel, brave, protective. And look where it got me.

She's gone.
