Chapter 7

**Alex's POV**

His words hurt. How could he think that I left and didn't care about him? He meant the world to me. But in a friend way. I had no intentions of hurting him, and I can't believe that he would think that. I stormed out of the flat, unable to even think such a thing. Did I really hurt him by leaving? I mean, it WAS for me and Annabel's own good. She would never survive in that house with my father. Sometimes Ed got me so worked up. Even when we were younger.

"Alex, wait!" I heard Harry yell from the doorway. I walked faster, now hearing the sound of his footsteps behind me. He was really tall, his long legs giving him an advantage to catching up to me. I ran faster, pumping my legs as fast as I could, not wanting to talk about anything that had to do with Ed. I heard Harry's footsteps right behind me as he grabbed my wrist. I was pulled back, trying to get away.

"Just listen for a second!" he yelled, trying to catch his breath. When he realized I wasn't going to run away, he started talking.

"Ed didn't mean what he said, really. He was just upset and hurt that you left him without a goodbye in person. He missed you loads, and has been trying to look for you for several months. He gave up and just moved on. He never stopped thinking about you." Harry explained. I was shocked. Was he really looking for me for that long? My breathing returned to normal, as Harry let go of my wrist. I regretted what I said to Ed. I walked back to the flat with Harry in silence, the faint crunching noise of our feet on the gravel sidewalk. We arrived at his house, walking up to the front door, which was still open from when Harry ran out. We walked in, finding Ed and Jenna talking on the couch.

"Shit Jenna, I screwed up." he said, holding his head in his hands. "I shouldnt've said that. I DID miss her. I DID want to give her a big hug when I saw her. I guess that all those feeling I felt when she first left, all came flooding back." he gushed, looking at Jenna for advice.

"well," she said, nodding her head in our direction.

"Alex..." he started, walking towards me. I ran to him, giving him the biggest hug ever.

"I'm sorry." I said, inhaling the scent of his cologne.

"Me too, I'm not mad, if anything, I'm the happiest person in the world" he admitted, making me blush.

That night me and Ed talked about what we've been doing since we last saw each other. I found out that he did pursue a career in songwriting, and that he's been bringing in extra money from gigs. We caught up, talking all night, siting in his old beanbag chairs what he got 2 years ago.

That night was perfect, little did I know what was coming next.
