Once I got to the bottom of the staircase, my mom saw the look on my face, one of worry and fear, and she asked, alarmed,
"Oh honey, what's wrong?"
"Funny, that's exactly what I was about to ask you," I said, more upset than sarcastic, but she understood.
"Sit down,"
'Those words are never good.'
None the less, I sat down on the plush brown chair across from her.
"I am just going to say it, no hesitation for dramatic effect,"
She paused for dramatic effect.
I held my breath and tensed up in my chair.
"You are no longer attending Beauxbaton. You will be going to Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry instead."
She paused.
My stomach just dropped two floors. "I-I-I'm what?!?! Hog-whats?!?!" I was lost for words. I had only ever heard of that school mentioned a few times, in passing, around the time of the tournament."Don't say it like that! Think of it as a door to a fresh start. You got accepted! And best part is, you leave today! Aren't you excited!?"
My stomach dropped three more floors into the basement.
I was excited for a new start, but at the same time... I don't know anyone!I leave today!?!?!
"Well, we better get going!" My mom said, as she finished packing my stuff, and I was still In a daze.
"I will head off to Gringotts and you can get all your supplies with this," she handed me a small, palm sized sack of Sickles and Galleons, "I will meet you in three hours at the station, around Platform 9, and honey, change your shirt," And with that she had apparated out.I went upstairs in a dream-like trance and took off my shirt revealing a white tank top and a binder underneath. I laid the shirt out on my bed and stared at the word 'Beauxbaton' numbly for a few minutes, trying to wake up from this... dream? Nightmare? Confusion?
I took out my hand-me-down wand and pointed it at the shirt, casting a spell to attempt to remove the logo to leave a light blue polo.
This, however, did not happen. Instead, not to my surprise, the wand's end exploded and it left a gaping hole where the word had been printed. I sighed, then reach into my drawer and pulled out a aqua colored shirt to match my eyes.
I threw it on and put my wand in my back pocket and said to myself,"Well. Here begins a new start,"
With a small smile of acceptance, I apparaed into the busy shopping center of Diagon Ally.
