My body made its way towards my destination, but my mind was clouded.
So much had happened since I woke up this morning that I thought, more than ever, this must be a strange dream. I would soon wake up and head off to Beauxbaton.
But I didn't.
Instead, I tripped on a crack in the cobblestone and caught myself before I fell. Nobody seemed to see me, but I knew myself well enough to know that this was a sign I wouldn't be able to focus on getting the supplies I needed if I kept thinking about Ron.I said aloud to myself as I walked hurriedly,
"Brooke, he is just a guy. He's like every guy you've ever met. He likes you because your a veela from Beauxbaton, and he is smitten.
If this is not the case, and you truly are connected by some strange ethereal force, yeah right, then we WILL meet again,"
With that out of the way, I could focus on school."GET YOUR BEAUXBATON, DERMSTRANG, AND HOGWARTS SUPPLY LIST HERE!!" A young boy shouted into the busy bustling crowd of Diagon Ally. I walked over to the newspaper styled stand and said, "Hogwarts, first year"
"That 'el be one Sickle, young lady." The large, hairy man running the stand had said. I handed him a Sickle in return for the list. I recived a Fifth Year acceptance letter at home, along with a Fifth Year supply list, and since it was, still, my first year at Hogwarts, I needed a First Year list to see what I needed as well. I read the list:
First-year students will require:
*Clothing*
-Uniform Three Sets of Plain Work Robes (Black)
-One Plain Pointed Hat (Black) for day wear
-One Pair of Protective Gloves (dragon hide or similar)
-One Winter Cloak (Black, silver fastenings)
*Please note that all student's clothes should carry name-tags.*
*Books*
I mentally skipped over this section since I need fifth year books.
*Other Equipment*
-1 Wand
-1 Cauldron (pewter, standard size 2)
-1 set of glass or crystal phials -1 telescope
-1 set of brass scales
*Students may also bring an Owl OR a Cat OR a Toad.*
Okay, first stop was Flourish and Blotts, since it was so close. I entered the store and saw the expressive bookstore with school textbooks, reference volumes, how-to manuals, etc. about all areas and practices of magic. The store's shelves were stacked to the ceiling with books as large as paving stones bound in leather; books full of peculiar symbols and a few books with nothing in them at all. I walked straight to a tired employee and showed her my list of stuff from the acceptance letter my mother got from the Hogwarts owl. "Hogwarts, that is supposed to be a really good school." She commented as, with a wave of her wand, the 10 books I needed (all from my fifth year list) appeared in a cart. She brushed of some cobwebs and dust off the top of the books, but other than that they looked in pretty good shape. I gave the lady five Galleons per book, as requested, and wheeled the books out of the shop to my next shop.
Then I was off to the Cauldron Store. I walked in and see metal pots of all sizes, in copper, brass, pewter and silver, are for sale. Some are collapsible, and others are self stirring. It looked like a well kept store, neat and organized. But what I was looking for was a pewter, size 2. I quickly found it and carried it over to the check out desk. One Galleon and a Sickle. I placed it in my cart and walked out.
