Since the train had already departed, it was hard to find an empty, or even half empty, compartment. My hand was sweating, and the handle from my trunk slipped. It made a loud *thunk* in the silent corridor. It seemed as though no one heard it, so set down Alex and grabbed my trunk handle once more. I thought I was lucky that no one heard me, but when I picked up Alex's cage, he wildly started screeching!

"Alex! Hush up!" I said to him in a loud whisper, and with that he got quite. Alex was always very obedient, but that didn't mean he wasn't fussy.
Just as I started down the hall again, a door to a compartment slid open right infront of me, making me stop in my tracks. Out stepped a tall, slender boy with sleek white-blond hair. His gray eyes, pale skin, and rather sharp, pointed features, made him look quite intimidating. He looked at me with annoyance, probably from hearing Alex.
Upon making eye contact, his glare softened as he asked,

"Are you lost?" I was taken aback at the kindness in his tone. I smiled at him and explained,

"Uh... oh- no, no, I was just looking for a compartment."

"Well, you are welcome to join us. I was just about to head down to find where the trolley was." I glanced into the compartment he just emerged from. There were people in there his age or older, and they all looked at me with either contempt or hunger.

"Umm," I paused. Personally, I don't think I want to stay with people like that if they acted like they looked. Again, I didn't want to judge, but the air of the compartment simply didn't feel safe. They smelled of malice.

"Do you wish to come with me to the trolley, then?" I had no idea what kind of 'trolley' he was referring to but I'd rather go with him then stay with those people.

"Yes," I said, a little too quickly.

"Well let me take this from you," he said, grabbing my trunk from me, while I still held tightly onto Alex's cage.

'What a gentleman!' I thought. Is everyone at this school as kind as he and Ron?

"Thank you. I don't have any friends that go that go to this school..." We began to walk down the corridor as the conversation.

"How come?"
"Well, because I just transferred from Beauxbaton." He looked at me with interest, examining me up and down as if for the first time. A chill went down my spine

"I'm not surprised, you are a very attractive young lady." He said, rather seductively. He was trying to charm me, and I wasn't having it.
I made a mental note not to tell anyone I met that I was from Beauxbaton as an opening statement.
This was a new start for me, and I'm not going to have this happening again.
I narrowed my eyes at him, and he didn't seem to pick up on the message.
We approached up to the trolley.

"Welcome to the Honeydukes Express!" said a plump, friendly witch, "All of the sweets are supplied by Honeydukes Sweetshop!" She said, enthusiastically.

"Hold on." The boy said to the lady. He turned toward me, politely and said with a cunning smirk, "I forgot to introduce myself earlier, my name is-"

"Draco Malfoy," A boy with dark, hair and glasses said with disgust as he came out of his nearby compartment. I think I have seen him before but I couldn't place his name.
"What are you you doing here, Potter?" The blonde, apparently known as 'Draco', said with complete and utter loathing, a very different side of him than what I had seen so far.
Oh! That was the other's name I couldn't place, Potter. Presumably Harry Potter?

"Um, last I checked, I go to this school, too." Harry retorted. Then a second boy came out of the compartment. My mind went numb to see that it was, none other than Ron Weasley.
