Once I was up in the air, I began to look around the field for a flicker of gold. I heard the crack of a bat in my right ear, and turned to see a bludger hurling away from me, and a Beater barrel into me, nearly knocking me from my broom.
"That was a close one, huh?" Said Fred, grabbing me by the arm to re-steady me on my broom, "You're lucky I'm good," he winked and let his touch linger for a split second, before zooming off in pursuit of the buldger. I looked after him for a moment, replaying Ginny's words, then shook my head to get back in the game.
I didn't think it was going to be too hard to find a golden ball with wings against the bright blue sky and lush green grass, no matter how small it was. This proved itself to be quite the challenge after all, for an hour had passed, and there was no sight of the Snitch... then two hours. The team was doing well on defense, only a couple goals on each side had been made.
I looked down into the bleachers and saw Hermione and Neville, Hermione still fast asleep on his shoulder and Neville locked in on the game. I glanced to the other side of the bleachers to see nothing but red and gold. I began scanning the ground, appearing to look for the Snitch, when I was really checking to see where Draco ran off to.
He is here for a reason, and he hadn't just given up on i I can feel it.
I could also feel a sudden searing pain in my lower right leg.
I swerved dangerously to one side, seeing the cut of dark red down my leg. I caught myself, having no idea what had just happened.
Out of no where, a Bludger hit me in the side of the head with a sickening 'crack' and my consciousness swam around me.
I was thrown off of the broom and I reached up for it, desperately, with my right hand, but I knew I had already plummeted out of its reach. A saving hand quickly grabbed mine from above and clumsily hoisted me onto a broom at about the time I expected my world to black out permanently.
I opened my eyes, that I didn't realize were closed, to see that I was once again on a broom, I was behind someone.
"R-Ron?" I stammered, my broken jaw giving me a hard time.
"Yes," said the shaky voice. I quickly wrapped my arms tightly around his waist.
"W-w-" I attempted
"Shh, don't hurt yourself more, Im taking you to the Hospital Wing,"
We had just landed in front of the school. Ron jumped off his broom and held his hand out, urgently, to help me off. I stepped off his broom, as well, but instead of landing gracefully on my feet, I collapsed onto the ground.
Blood was still pouring from my leg, and my thoughts were muddy from blood loss.
"Blimey!" Ron exclaimed, kneeling down next to me, just now noticing my leg. I shivered from Ron's hand traced my wound gingerly.
"I've seen nasty Bludger injuries in my day, but nothing like this..." I moaned in pain, and Ron realized I needed to get to the hospital wing fast.
Without warning, he picked me up off of the ground, one arm underneath my arms and the other, gingerly beneath my knees. My arms refused to cooperate and dangled limply. The world was spinning, now, and I felt very light headed, and it was not because Ron was sprinting up several flights of stairs, skipping up to three steps at a time. Once we got there, someone had opened the door from the inside.
It was Madame Pomfrey,
"Merlin's beard!"
