"What are you doing here, Malfoy!?" Ron snorted, enraged.
"Sorry to burst in on the two lovers, but I was supposed to inform the compartments on this side of the train that we are nearing Hogwarts." Ron and I both glanced out the window. There wasn't sign of life for, miles in any direction
"What do you want Draco, for real?" I said, glaring at him.
I was not one to usually be bold, brave, or even outspoken, but the thought of reinventing myself here, where nobody knew my past... it was thrilling.
Draco had broken my trust, and I couldn't easily forgive him for that.He stepped in to our compartment with a devious smile and slid the door closed. Ron took a step back against the wall, I shifted my footing slightly towards Draco, and we both drew our wands, all within a fraction of a second.
"Jumpy?" Draco said, with a weird sound of pleasure in his cold voice,
"I just got some interesting information about you, River," I raised one of my eyebrows, confused at hearing my last name. He only smiled deviously."I just transfered," I said, calling his bluff, "how could you possibly know anything about me?"
"Oh, you didn't know?" He teased,
"I thought that mud-blood Schmidt was a friend of yours,""Raya? You know Raya!?" I lowered my wand to my side.
I have looked for her forever...
if he knows where she is, I'm more than willing to follow."Don't be fooled," warned Ron as he saw I began to lower my wand, "He is just trying to find your weakness, he's a snake," Ron whispered in my ear from behind me. I put all my trust and hopes of finding Raya in Ron's hands, for what reason, I'm not sure. Instinct I suppose.
I quickly rose up my wand again."Why should I believe you? You're rude and selfish, Malfoy," Draco's eyes narrowed like a serpent.
"Well," Draco scoffed, "if you don't believe that I have her, and that she told me all about your past, then follow me, I would love to prove it..." He winked and backed up toward the door.
"She would never betray me! She was my best friend!" I began to scream at Draco.
"Was. You will never know unless you follow me..." He tempted, a smirk across his pale face. He left and closed the sliding door. I took a step towards the door. Ron put a firm hand on my shoulder to both comfort me and hold me back. I turned to face him. My eyes were shimmering with tears.
"I have to know," I said with a quiet, cracking voice.
He looked down, and whispered, "Please be careful, he always has an angle," he then eased on his grip, and I pulled free, leaving him standing there alone. I really wanted him to follow us, but I wasn't going to risk putting him in danger.I walked down the long corridor, following Draco to an unfamiliar location. This wasn't his compartment. I saw his compartment when I first boarded the train. Where then was Raya? Maybe she was just with a group of friends chatting it up, and she wasn't in any danger at all. On the other hand, maybe she was kidnapped. How did he even know we knew each other?
If she gave up my secret, she would have to be being tortured.
She is the only person that I have ever entrusted with the darkness, other than my father, of course.
If Draco knows, it must have been her... but why? He's just bluffing. I bet he doesn't know anything. I ran into the back of Draco without warning, as he had stopped sharply.
"Don't get excited," He smirked, "we're here..." Then he gestured toward a closed compartment, "After you," I hesitated.
What was I about to see behind this door?
