When we entered the shop, we saw Ollivander rummaging through a bunch of wand boxes haphazardly.

"Whatcha doing?" I asked him casually, as if I didn't just infest his entire store with arthropods.

"Aha!" Ollivander said, in triumph, holding up a ordinary wand box, containing an ordinary wand.

I didn't know it at the time, but this ordinary wand changed my life forever.

"What's so special about this one?" I asked, curiously.

"I'll tell you if it works," He replied, taking the wand gingerly from it's black box. He handed it to me, his hands shaking ever-so slightly. I took the wand in both my hands and examined it. Before I had time to pick out the wood type, Ollivander anxiously shouted,

"Try it out!" I took a deep breath, glanced around the room for an object, and spoke strongly to a vase,

"Wingardium Leviosa!" To my surprise, it rose steadily, as I directed, and then lowered with a dull 'clink' as the ceramic gentle touched down on the wooden floor.

This wand worked better than my old wand ever had.

"So does this mean I have a new wand?" I asked hesitantly.

"Oh yes! And it is one of the rarest wands on the market for your age."

"How come?"

"Because," he paused for dramatic effect, "I was just about to sell the same exact wand to Mister Weasley! 14 Inch, Willow, and a single unicorn hair core from the same mane!" We all stared at each other in awe. The chances of having the same wand as someone your age, even in your generation, is one in a billion, if even that common.

It's said, the users share a bond...

a strong, unbreakable connection....

such a strange connection...

so bizarre that blood relatives often have very differing wands.

I don't know how long we were there, but I looked glanced up at the wall clock and saw that I had about an hour and a half left to find out what to get, where to get it, and then haul it all to the train station!

In a frenzy, disregarding all sensibility, I frantically spatted out,

"I really need to go! Here," I took my new wand from the counter and replace it with seven galleons, "Bye!" I rushed out the door.

As I hustled away, I thought I could hear Ollivander say something like,

"Don't worry, lad, you'll cross paths again, I'm certain of it,"

My heart skipped a beat, and I wished anything that I could stay, but I knew I had to go.

With that, I ran off in the direction of Flourish and Blotts, a bounce in my step.
