Dream and Sapnap had been inseparable ever since they were 7 years old. Sapnap and his parents had just moved into the house next door.
Flashback~
Two days after the new neighbors settled in, Dream's mom decided to bake some cookies and bring them over as a welcome present. Dream slipped his shoes on and stood up, taking the plate of cookies from his mother's hand and waiting patiently by the door as she went to go pick up his two year old younger brother. The trio left their house and made the short walk one house over. They rang the doorbell and waited for someone to open the door.
Less than a minute later a brunette man wearing a red hoodie and black pants opened the door, a confused expression on his face as he wasn't expecting any visitors.
"Hi, I'm Puffy and these are my two boys, Dream and Foolish."
"Lookie! We made you cookies!" Dream said, excitedly bouncing on the balls of his feet.
The man introduced himself as Bad and led them into the living room to sit down and get to know each other. As they got settled, a slightly taller man in a blue hoodie came down the stairs, followed by a raven haired boy, who had a white bandana fasted comfortably around his head.
"Geppy, Sapnap, say hi to our neighbors!" Bad stated, happy introducing everyone.
The two seven year olds sat frozen staring at each other, seemingly awestruck. With a nudge from Puffy, Dream broke out of his trance and stood up, walking to Sapnap and following him upstairs. While the parents got to know each other, the boys played Minecraft together and learned that they had a lot in common.
An hour later, after exchanging phone numbers with the two adults, Puffy took her boys home, not wanting to overstay their welcome. Ever since then, the families grew to become very close, especially Sapnap and Dream.
8 years later ~
Sapnap's family was over for dinner for the third time that week. The two 15 year old boys shoveled down their dinners and ran upstairs to Dream's room. After sitting on the bed and talking for a few minutes, Dream decided it was finally time to confess his feelings.
"Hey Sap?"
"Is everything okay Dreamie?" Sapnap asked, sensing the distress coming from his best friend.
"L-Look Sap I really like you and I understand if you don't feel the same wa-" He never finished that sentence because he was tackled into a hug.
"Of course I like you back!" He said not letting go of his new boyfriend. And right outside the door Foolish ran off, smirking knowing that he could use what he just heard as blackmail. They decided to keep their relationship a secret and were content in doing so.
2 years later ~ (Present Time)
Dream Pov
It was spring break and mom took me and Foolish out of town to visit family for the week. We were sitting on the beds in our hotel room, talking and watching tv, when Puffy said she had to go get something from the car. Since hotel doors are loud, I realized that I would hear when she came back, so it was the perfect time to call Sap.
"Hey baby!" I said, holding the phone up to my ear and lying back on the bed. We talked for around 10 minutes before he told me that Bad just finished making dinner so he had to go.
"Okay, bye bubs, I love you" I replied, hanging up with a stupid grin on my face. I was so deep in our conversation that I completely missed the fact that Puffy came in 5 minutes ago, and heard almost everything that I said.
"So Dream," she started, staring me directly in my eyes.
"H-Hey mom, how long have you been there?'' I asked, genuinely wondering how I missed her coming in.
"Long enough to figure out you're dating someone. How long?"
"2 years."
"Why didn't you tell me sooner? Who is it? When can I meet them?" She turned to look at Foolish and said, "Foolish, wipe that shit eating grin of your face, how did you find out before me!?
She quickly turned from mad mom mode to an excited fangirl, firing questions at me. I spent the next few minutes answering all her questions except the one of who it even was. Sap and I hadn't talked about telling our parents, and I needed to explain what happened and run it by him first.
The next day I called him, and after explaining what happened, he agreed that it was finally time to tell them. We planned to announce it at dinner next Monday night.
Time Skip ~
I sat on the couch, bouncing my leg up and down, nervously waiting for them to arrive. Once they got here and sat down, everything was normal except for the fact that the nerves coming off the two of us were practically visible.
"So Dream, care to explain why your sweating bullets over there?" Foolish asked me, failing to hide the smirk plastered on his face.
Everyone's attention turned to me and I gave Foolish a death glare as I took a deep breath and started my little speech.
"Hehe yeah, well um, Sap and I have something to tell you guys," I said, reaching next to me and grabbed his hand, squeezing his hand to comfort him, and continued "We have been dating for the past two years."
"HAHA YES BAD YOU OWE BOTH OF US ONE HUNDRED BUCKS!" Skeppy shouted, high fiving Puffy.
"You..you bet on us dating!?" Sap said, just as shocked as I was.
"Yes you muffins, we all saw the way you looked at each other! You should've seen your faces when you saw each other for the first time!"
I grinned, standing up and pulling Sap up to my room. As soon as we got in I jumped at him, sending us both flying and landing on the bed, laughing at how our families knew about our feelings towards each other, way before we even knew ourselves.
