"Mom, I don't want to go to school today."
Puffy sighed and hugged her son, wishing she could make things better for him. He hadn't told her that he was getting bullied, only that he hadn't made any friends yet.
"I'm sorry, it'll get better. You joined late, people just don't know you yet ."
Foolish nodded and pulled out of the hug, grabbing his backpack, lunchbox, and his special green notebook.
"Bye mom."
"Bye honey, have a good day today!"
Foolish drummed his fingers on the notebook he was holding as he walked out the door and to the bus stop, waiting patiently for it to come pick him up and take him to school.
When the bus pulled up he climbed in and went straight to the back, the seat he sat at every day.
He opened his notebook and flipped it to the third page, the page he was filling up with doodles during the bus ride in the mornings, all he could get done before the 2nd to last stop.
He grabbed his pencil pouch and opened it on the seat next to him. Today he started drawing a spyglass, one of the new items added to Minecraft in the update yesterday.
He had sketched it out and was about to start detailing it when he heard familiar laughter fill his ears.
The boys on the 2nd to last stop.
He shut his notebook and closed his pencil pouch, putting it back in his backpack and zipping it shut again.
He looked out of the window, taking a deep breath.
'Maybe they won't notice me today.' Foolish thought, knuckles turning white from how hard he was grabbing his notebook.
The three boys saw him immediately, the consequence of sitting in the same seat every day. Two sat behind him and one next to him in the same row, immediately starting to taunt and tease him.
'Just ignore them, at least they don't hit me.' Foolish thought, continuing to look out the window.
For the rest of the 15 minutes on the bus they kept poking him and taunting him, getting more and more frustrated that he was acting as if he couldn't hear them.
As soon as the bus stopped in front of the school he filed out like the rest of the kids were, sighing in relief that he didn't break down in front of those kids like he usually does.
He went to his locker and switched out the folders and books for his first few classes, putting his green notebook in his backpack before closing and locking the door. He turned to walk to his first class, immediately getting stopped by a death grip on his arm.
He was wrenched back and turned to see the bullies, pissed off from the bus a few minutes earlier. Foolish gulped nervously. He messed up big time.
They didn't say anything, they just pulled him into the bathroom and closed the door behind them. The one grabbing his arm let go with a shove, sending him back a few steps.
