Everyday, Tubbo had a routine for when it was time for gym class. He would wait until everyone was done changing, then he would go in, change into his school provided gym clothes, and come out and join everyone, so no one saw his binder.
He had a doctors note exempting him from gym class. It was very dangerous to do strenuous activities in a binder, and he refused to take it off and out himself to his classmates. His mother agreed, understanding how mentally tough it already is for him to need to take it off everyday.
He hadn't even come out to his best friend Tommy. Tubbo started the transition the summer after 9th grade, and moved schools going into 10th. Tommy made him feel welcome from his very first day, and two years later, two months into their senior year, they've only grown closer.
Tubbo told Tommy that he couldn't participate in gym due to asthma, and Tommy believed it. And even though he didn't participate, they still made him change into their gym clothes every day. And every day, once class was over, Tubbo would wait until everyone was gone to quickly change back and go out to the car, where his mom was waiting to pick him and Tommy up. (Gym was their last class)
Today, Tubbo did the same thing he did every single day, and waited for the lockers to clear out. Once the last two boys walked out, he rushed in and started changing. Just as he pulled off his gym shirt, he heard the door opening.
He turned around, tears welling in his eyes seeing his Tommy, looking at him with a shocked expression.
"Tommy, wait I promise this isn't w-" Tubbo tried to explain, not wanting to lose his best friend. He never got to finish that thought because he was brought into a hug by Tommy.
"Tubbo, it's okay. I still love you (platonic istg people) just the same. You should've told me sooner, big man."
"R-Really? You don't mind?"
"Of course not big man! You're the same Tubbo I've always known. Now c'mon, your moms waiting, and we got some important Minecraft gaming to get too."
"Thank you Tommy." Tubbo said, pulling back from their hug, grinning from ear to ear. A weight was lifted from his shoulders, knowing that he didn't have to hide it from his friend, and that Tommy supported him without question.
