Prompt/Notes: They are 10 years old

It was Friday afternoon, about one hour after school let out. Sam was sitting at his kitchen counter, doing homework, when his doorbell rang. He slid off the stool and ran to the door, checking to make sure it was the boy he was waiting for, and not some random delivery guy.
When he saw it was in fact his best friend, he opened the door and tackled the brunette in a hug.
"Ponkie I missed you!"
"Sam, I saw you at lunch today."
"Still a long time!" The green haired boy replied, grabbing his laptop and stepping outside, closing the door behind him.
The two ran off towards the woods that were down the street, giggling. They made it and went inside down their secret path, that winded deeper into the woods for a few minutes. At the end of their path was a treehouse, settled safely in an old tree.

They climbed up and went inside, where there were two bean bag chairs and a rug placed on the floor. On the wall, there was a heart carved into the wood, with the message 'P + S' inside.
Almost every single day, the two would hide away, playing minecraft on Sam's laptop or just talking, enjoying being together. And once it hit 5 pm, the two would reluctantly head back home, making sure to be home before their parents got back.
And every single time, on Sam's doorstep, the two would hug and pinkie promised to stay friends forever.
Technically speaking, when they were 15, they did break that promise, becoming more than friends instead.
