17 year old Dream was very adventurous and littered with scars, spending the majority of his time either reading or training, usually the latter. His younger brother, a 14 year old reckless brunette haired boy named Foolish, had been annoying him nonstop.
After over 6 months of non stop pestering, Dream finally gave into Foolish's request to be taught how to spar. Using a training sword, Dream taught him the proper stance, how to attack, and how to block.
Foolish felt he was making great progress but no matter how many times he asked to try and use a real sword, Dream always denied, saying he wasn't ready.
For the next two months, Foolish spent almost all of his time practicing with Dream or on a practice dummy. He could often be seen practicing in the early hours of the morning, even before the sun started to rise.
After seeing his determination and improvements, Dream finally deemed him ready to start with a real sword. He definitely made the right decision, because Foolish handled the item with such care and precision, as if he's been using it for years.
The two were sparring together, using real swords for the first time. Foolish, though slower and not as agile as Dream, was holding his own well. Dream faked a swing low and cut up quickly. Foolish wasn't prepared for the move. He slightly bent forward, lining his sword up for the low blow that never came.
He felt something skin across his right cheek, but due to the adrenaline coursing through him, he didn't pay any mind to it.
"Holy shit, Foolish I'm so sorry are you okay?" Dream asked, eyes scanning Foolish's cheek.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"
"What do you mean why wouldn't you be!? You have a gash across your cheek!" He replied, guiding Foolish through the back door of the house and into the bathroom.
Foolish looked up into the mirror to see that Dream was in fact telling the truth. He had a large, pretty deep gash settled right down the length of his check, slightly dripping blood. Dream yelled for Puffy, who came over quickly hearing the worry in her son's voice.
"What's wrong, Dream?"
"Mom, you're better at bandaging cuts than me, help." Dream said, pointing at Foolish's face. As soon as Puffy saw the cut, her face painted with worry and she started cleaning Foolish up.
After about 10 minutes of Puffy skillfully working and Dream standing to the side feeling guilty for causing the whole mess, Puffy exclaimed that she was done.
She stepped to the side letting Foolish see his check covered in a clean bandage.
"Will it scar?" Foolish asked, sounding hopeful.
"Yes, I'm really sorry Foolish I didn't mean to." Dream said, scratching the back of his neck. What surprised them was when Foolish latched onto Dream, wrapping his arms around the older's neck.
"Yay! I'm going to look cool just like you do!" The brunette said, beaming up at his brother.
