Jade Aurora
I rolled over in bed, seeing Steve reading a book while playing with my hair. I sighed, content that I had slept through the night without a nightmare. Burying myself in Steves stomach I mutter "Good morning."
Steve continues to play with my hair as he replies "Good morning." I looked at the book he was reading, To Kill a Mockingbird. I pulled the warm blankets over my shoulders as I asked "They have To Kill a Mockingbird on Asgard?"
His chest ripples in a chuckle, amusement filling his voice. "No. I brought this with me." I smile softly, running my hand up and down his arm, completely content with this moment. Steve sets his book down and asks "So what are you up to today Princess?" I smiled at the nickname. It was so hot when he called me that.
"Well, I am learning to harness my inner Frost Giant with Loki today, then he and Thor are going to introduce us to Lady Sif and the Warriors Three." I said imitating Thors accent. I had always had somewhat of an accent but I hid it during my time on Earth. I had always assumed I had gotten it from all my travel throughout the universe. But now that I knew who I am I stopped hiding it. I embraced it.
"Just don't ware yourself out." Steve said kissing my forehead. I looked up at him and replied honestly "I actually haven't gotten that tired since we've arrived. Frigga said I can take some spell books home with us." Steves face suddenly feigned relief. "So you're coming back to Earth?"
I sat up, confused as to why he would think such a thing. "Why do you say that?" I asked, slightly offended. Steve sat up too. His blue eyes filled with regret from his words. "It's just that you love it so much here. You've made an unimaginable recovery through this place. I thought you might want to stay here with your family."
I rub my forehead and sigh "Steve, you think I want to stay here? Earth is my home, I've never thought otherwise." Steve swung his legs off the side of the bed and rubbed his face. "You are their princess, Jade. You were born here. This is where your mother lived."
I sigh, walking around the bed and squatting in front of Steve. "Hey," I said lifting his chin to look at me. "I think my mother would've preferred I follow my love. Earth is my home and it will be as long as you're there."
His eyes searched my face as I sat on his knee. "Well that's good. Because I think Captain Asgard sounds weird." I laughed at his cute comment, kissing his cheek "You're to cute sometimes Steve." Steve had one arms wrapped around my waist and the other resting on my thigh gently and cautiously. "Thank you very much princess."
I rolled my eyes at his adorable goofiness. "You are quite welcome Captain Rogers." I buried my face in his neck and simply enjoyed his presence. Hydra then came to mind. All that they had done to me. How they had changed me. "She's gone for good isn't she?" I asked quietly.
Steve kissed my hair as he rubbed soothing circles on my back "Who?" I pulled away so I could see his face clearly. I already knew the answer but I needed to hear it. "Jade Quill. She's gone. I can feel it. I'm not getting her back."
Steves eyes roamed my face, tears bubbling in his eyes "I could tell, she couldn't have this long without knocking me out." I giggle and shove him back onto the bed. I loved this man so much. And I wasn't going to lose him again.
