If Steve heard that song one more time he was sure he'd lose it. When he'd been asked if he wanted to serve his country on the most important battlefield, singing and dancing wasn't what he had in mind. Of course it wasn't all bad. When doctor Abraham Erskine cleared him for duty, the hope that he was running out of, had returned. When he was chosen for the serum test he felt like he was dreaming. When he met Agent Peggy Carter he finally had a conversation with a woman that lasted more than three minutes. And meeting Howard Stark? Well science had always been Bucky's arena but still wow.

But the euphoria didn't last long. Right after the experiment worked dr Erskine was shot and killed. Stark, Carter and Colonel Phillips were being transferred to England and the only way he could do something to prevent them from making him a guinea pig was if he agreed on. . .being a chorus girl? And Bucky? He hadn't heard from him in weeks. Was he ok? Was he alive? Steve could only speculate.

"Earth to Steve" Peggy's voice snapped Steve back to reality "Steve?"

"Hm?" Steve looked at her with a lost look

"I asked how you're coping with everything" she sat beside him "is everything alright? You seem kinda...lost"

Steve smiled at her, shaking the thought of Bucky away from his mind "yea just a little tired you know? Singing and dancing is more exhausting than it sounds"

"Rogers get over here. Show's about to start" a man interrupted the moment

"Duty calls" he stood up and with a pained smile "here we go again" he whispered to himself making sure Peggy couldn't hear him

Music started and the ladies started singing "Who's strong and brave, here to save the American Way?"

"Not all of us can storm a beach or ride a tank but there's still a way all of us can fight" he put on the fake happy smile and talked. As senator Brandt used to say once the show starts it's the performers' duty to make sure it's perfect every time.

The song finished, Steve took pictures with the children who attended the show and after another thirty minutes with the reporters he returned to the hotel he stayed at. The moment he closed the door behind him he let out a scream, which he muffled with the nearest pillow. The scream was filled with anger, agony and pain. He hated his job. He hated his life. He hated not knowing anything about Bucky. Too many things roamed his mind once again.
He couldn't do that shit anymore. He picked up the phone.

After a few rings a female voice answered "Senator Brandt's office this is Dolores speaking how can I help you?"

"Hi um" Steve cleared his throat "I was hoping to speak to the senator. . .I um. . . Tell him Steve Rogers is uh" the lady interrupted him

"I'm sorry sir but the senator is otherwise occupied right now"

Steve took a deep breath. He was gonna say his peace "tell the senator that Steve Rogers called to inform him that he will be spending the rest of his time in the militarily camp of the SSR" he spoke with one breath and hummed a small please as he put down the phone.

James Bucky Barnes

When they reached the Hydra facility in Austria they were separated and put into cages, 14 people in each cage. Bucky, Dugan, Falsworth and Morton were together. There they met soldiers from the French rebellion and from other Allied forces. Every day they would be given something that resembled food, they would be put to work and at the end of the day given the same meal and back to their cells. But today was different. I'd been two weeks since the battle of Azzano and their schedule had never been altered. Except for today. They were woken up but they weren't given any food. They didn't unlock the cells either.
