Chapter 2

-Sykkuno's POV-

Sykkuno walked into his favourite boba shop and smiled as he walked to the counter.

Okay, it's a new person. Don't worry Adara is right there it's okay

Sykkuno smiled slightly and ordered. He took in the worker's appearance. He was tall, maybe 2 inches taller than Sykkuno. He had curly dark brown hair that fell perfectly over his right eye, covering it. He wore a black mask and a baggy black hoodie with a name tag. "Corpse" the name tag read. The handwriting was a little sloppy but it made Sykkuno smile a little more. "And the name for that?" the boy named Corpse asked. His voice was deep and sent a chill down Sykkuno's back. "Uh-" Sykkuno said, stepping back out of reflex from being zoned out. "His name is Sykkuno," Adara chimed in. Sykkuno silently thanked her, paid, and walked to the other side of the counter so he could talk to her. "Wait- I don't know how to make the drink.." Corpse said, looking a little bit scared. "I forgot it was your first day," Adara giggled. She walked over to Corpse and helped him. Sykkuno pulled out his phone and saw a text from a girl named Calla. "Hey! You're a tutor right?? My son dropped out of school and refuses to go back.. I was hoping you wouldn't mind giving him some lessons??" Calla had texted. "Of course not!! I have openings mon-fri between 2:30pm and 6pm" Sykkuno replied. "Awesome! And uhm.. How much do you charge?" Calla replied. "I charge as much as affordable," Sykkuno replied. "Will you accept like.. $50 a week for 5 lessons? Or anything around there! I just can't go over 50 a week," Calla replied. "Sounds perfect!" Sykkuno replied. "Awesome, thank you so much. How about.. Oh he doesn't get off work until 3.. Can we do 4?" "absolutely!" Sykkuno replied. He put his phone down as Adara started begging for attention. "Where's your partner today?" Sykkuno asked her. "Ughhh they're busy with practice!" Adara complained, causing Sykkuno to giggle. "Oh hush!! You have a crush on a dude you haven't seen since you were 7!" Adara replied and laughed. "Shut up!! It's not my fault Yukio dropped off the face of the earth!" Sykkuno replied. He glanced back at Corpse just in time to see his eyes shoot up. "Sykkunooooo what do you think of my new coworker?? I think he's kinda weird," Adara giggled. "I am right here." Corpse said. "I know. But what's with the mask?? And the voice??" Adara asked. Corpse rolled his eyes. "Protection. Disease." Corpse said, pointing to his mask and then his throat. "I like your mask, I think it's cool. And your voice is amazing," Sykkuno smiled. Corpse tilted his head and smiled a little. "Uh- thanks.." Corpse said. Sykkuno nodded once and turned his attention back to Adara. "You gotta work on your social skills," he teased. "Oh hush!" Adara whined. "Oh also I can't hang out much during weekdays anymore, I got another tutoring job!" Sykkuno smiled. "Child you need to not. I need my bestie!! Plus Rae and Toast are gonna start missing you!" Adara whined. "I'm sorryyyyy but I'm free on the weekend!" Sykkuno said. "Fine." Adara pouted, causing Sykkuno to laugh.
