Lost Now Found - Corpsekkuno

Chapter 9

-Corpse's POV-

Corpse stared at the place in disbelief that it was still there. A memory crept into his mind.

Corpse sat, hidden in the trees. He had found the place recently and was going to tell Kira what he had found but he had ended up getting in a fight with his dad. He pulled his knees to his chest as he sat against one of the larger trees. Tears filled his eyes and poured down his face. He cried as silently as he could as he traced over the bruises and cuts forming on his arms. He heard foot steps and tried to stay as silent as possible. "Why did he just run?? where is he?" Corpse heard Kira's voice. He panicked. Corpse had never told Kira what was happening at home or how his dad acted. He didn't doubt that Kira had an idea though, as his father wasn't exactly quiet. He held his breath as Kira moved through the trees. As soon as Corpse saw Kira's figure, he pulled his sleeves down and put his head on his knees, still crying. "Yuki? what's wrong why are you crying??" Kira asked and sat next to him. He hugged Corpse who leaned into the hold and sniffled. "just parents fighting again" he said softly. That's all he had ever told Kira. Parents fight.

"corpse? corpse!" Sykkuno was shaking corpse, trying to get his attention. "are you okay?" he asked. Corpse looked over at Sykkuno and smiled softly. "just shocked.. it's been forever since I've been here" He said softly. He looked over the trees and saw where he and Kira had carved their names into the tree.

"I dunno... Corpse sounds like you're dead!" Kira said as they were talking about fake names. "yeah but it's cool" Corpse giggled and hugged Kira tight. "what would your fake name be?" he asked. "I dunno.. something with kuno I think.. or syk.." Kira trailed off. "both fit you perfectly. I like kuno more. little kuno" corpse teased. "I'M NOT LITTLE!!" Kira whined and pouted. "awh" Corpse replied with a smile.

"i'm glad I'm back in this town" Corpse said after a few minutes of looking around. "maybe my mom was right.. maybe I will find my old friend.." corpse said quietly. "maybe I should go back to school.." he mumbled. "Yeah!! I'll help you catch up and you can hang out with me and Adara!! If you want of course!" Sykkuno smiled. It was a bright smile. One that held love, warmth, and hope. His eyes held excitement and happiness. Corpse smiled too. "if you can catch me up then I'll go" corpse said. "you'll have to take a placement test I'm sure. but it shouldn't be too bad" Sykkuno smiled even more. even brighter. Corpse didn't know that was possible. Or that he felt happiness hiding in him. Corpse felt happy. He felt safe.
