Chapter 13

-Corpse's POV-

Corpse hadn't been able to move for a few days now. He sighed, this being part of the reason he originally dropped out of school. Luckily, this morning, he could move. He got dressed for school and grabbed his bag. He said bye to his mom and went to Sykkuno's house. "Corpse!!" Sykkuno said excitedly. "Ready??" he asked. "I'm ready Sykkuno. let go" Corpse said with a small laugh. He put his mask on and walked to school with Sykkuno quickly catching him up on everything. Corpse's head was spinning with the fear of not being able to catch up in class. Sykkuno noticed and grabbed his hand. "Hey, it's alright, I promise. I'll help you catch up again," Sykkuno smiled kindly. The same smile that makes Corpse all giddy and makes him feel safe. Corpse smiled back and walked into the school. He adjusted his mask and went to his first-period class with Sykkuno. He sat down and noticed that there was a different teacher. When the bell rang, the teacher introduced himself as Mr. Green. He took started reading out names as Corpse started zoning out. "Corpse..? That's a name really?" Mr. Green said and laughed. Corpse looked up in fear. "Alright which one of you is Corpse and what's your real name?" Mr. Green asked. Corpse put his hand up, shaking. "M-me.. and that's my name.." Corpse said softly. "So if I pull out your birth certificate, it's gonna say Corpse?" Mr. Green retaliated. Corpse panicked and started playing with his rings. His breath got short but he tried to ignore it. "Come on what's your real name." Mr. Green demanded. "Why don't you just leave him alone. You're a teacher you should know better than this." Sykkuno snapped. "And who are you?" Mr. Green asked. "Sykkuno." he replied with a smile. "No, your real name." Green replied. Sykkuno sighed. "Kira.." he said softly and played with his pencil. "That's a shit name." Green laughed. "Hey! You don't get to talk to him like that!" Corpse snapped and stood up. "Oh yeah? I'm the teacher I can do what I want!" Green replied. "No, you're not a teacher. You're a substitute who can get fired quicker than you could even apologize. So shut the fuck up, stop judging us, and teach the fucking class." Corpse snapped and sat back down. "And if I don't?" Green asked. Corpse looked at Sykkuno. He stood up and walked out of class with his things. Sykkuno followed. As did most of the class. Corpse turned and saw people following him. Fear went through him and he grabbed onto Sykkuno. "What do we now?" a girl in the crowd asked. "Just.. do whatever you want" Corpse shrugged and continued to walk with Sy. Once they were alone, Corpse sat down and looked at Sykkuno. "So.. Kira..? that's your name..?" Corpse asked. "Yeah.. why?" Sykkuno asked. Corpse paused. "Kira.. my name is Yukio.. But I go by Corpse, mainly so no one who knew my dad can find me.." Corpse said softly. "Yuki..?" Sykkuno asked and looked at him. "Mhm.." Corpse said. Sykkuno hugged Corpse tight. Corpse smiled and held him tightly. "I've missed you so much.." Sykkuno said. "I missed you too.. I'm so sorry I didn't say bye.. I couldn't.. I didn't have time," Corpse sighed. "I understand. It's okay, I've got you," Sykkuno said in a soft voice. Corpse immediately broke into tears and hugged him tighter. "It's okay, Yuki.. I'm here now. You're safe," Sykkuno said.
