CHAPTER 14

"Dinner is ready! "We heard Molly say up from our room. We three quickly get up and go downstairs.

Dinner was delicious and everyone was as nice as I expected them to be. Molly asked me about my summer which I simply replied with a resumed version of what I had said to the girls, I said:

"Remus was really nice, he took me everywhere he could think of in the weirdest times of the day. One night he woke me up at 4 am because he remembered this ice cream shop that he and his friends went to when they were in Hogwarts and he simply took me there. It was really fun not knowing what you were going to wake up to next."

"That sounds unplanned. "Molly said simply.

"It sounds like an adventure. "Said Arthur in a whisper to me, knowing that he couldn't contradict his wife.

"Anyway, Elle, tell us what you decide to name your cat. "Molly redirected the conversation.

"Well, Ginny and Hermione helped me and we decided on Hekatos. I don't know, I think it suits him. It's Greek."

"What is it with you and weird stuff? "Asked Fred but I couldn't answer him because George answered before me.

"Honestly, I think it sounds good, don't listen to him Elle, he's been a little moody lately."

Chatting took most of our evening and when I wanted to remember we had already finished our dinner and Molly was clearing the table.

"Molly please let me do it, just tonight, as a thank you. " I said rising from the table and not letting her get my plate.

"Dear, you don't have to. Oh, ok. But only because I know I won't be able to change your mind.

I got up and cleaned the table, I still had all the dishes to clean and because I wasn't of age I couldn't use magic. Everyone had left for their respective bedroom, or that's what I thought given that it was super quiet.

"Why didn't you reply to my letter Black? "A voice from behind me emerged. I tried looking at them in the reflection of the window but it was so dark outside and inside that it was impossible to make out any human shape.

Black? who would call-Fred. Shoot. How could I forget his letter, I mean one thing is to forget to reply but how could I forget to read it?

"Oh don't act like you don't know about it, it may be dark but I could still see your reaction and it's obvious you know what I'm talking about. "Said Fred slightly leaning on a chair in the complete silence of the dark and cold room that it was the kitchen of the burrow that night.

"I never said I didn't know what you were talking about. "I said, ignoring him completely and continued to wash the dishes.

"You can be a real arse sometimes."

"Well that's a relief, I thought I was an arse all of the time to you. "I said with a smile which I wasn't sure if he could see or not.

"Do not try to change the conversation, Black. "From leaning on a chair he had passed to standing up and started walking slowly up to me when he started talking again. "Just admit that you like all the attention and that is why you didn't reply to my polite words. "He paused. "I know you, better than you think."

The silence that was standing between us was filled with the dolce tones of the rain. It was hard to realize how close we were standing to each other if I wasn't thinking of it, and as of right now I was more concentrated on finishing the dishes. So when I turned to reply to Fred I wasn't expecting to meet him face to face, leaning on the kitchen counter.

"Lost for words now are we? "he said, so low that if he had been talking any lower the rain would not have let me hear him.

"Why are you talking of yourself in the third and plural person?"

"Why did you ignore my letter?"

"Touché."

"Tell me."

"No."

"We can be here all night; I have no rush."

"Make me."

He got closer to me, slow but steady, and me? I was trying my hardest to move backwards but it was pretty useless as I was trapped. Right as he was about to close the gap between us he moved slightly to my side to whisper into my ear.

"I am starting to think you haven't actually read my letter, Black. "He moved back to where there was space between us again. "Well, I am going to bed. We have to be up early tomorrow. Hopefully, you can sleep tonight. " He said with a grin plastered on his face.

I didn't even wait until he went out of the kitchen to go back to my chores, after all, everything that was keeping me there was that. After I finished I went to my room to see that the girls were already asleep so I got into my bed as quietly as I could.

Just as I was about to sleep I felt something cuddling my leg, I looked down and smiled at Hekatos. But I just couldn't go to sleep. I was too curious. What could he possibly have said that he was so eager to hear a response from me?

Of course, I had to forget about it. At this point might as well check if by some weird chance I had packed it, which I didn't think I did. Anyway, I got up and searched for an unopened envelope in my trunk.

After what felt like a lifetime of searching and taking everything out of my trunk I found an envelope, unfortunately, it was from Remus and not from Fred but I told myself that it still was better than finding nothing. I put everything back into the trunk except the letter and went back into my bed.

Next to my bed, there was a window from which came the perfect amount of moonlight to read. Strangely the envelope had much writing to only be the addressing, it read:

Be more careful with your stuff, you forgot a letter, thankfully I saw it and I attached it to the envelope but I can also miss things sometimes so make sure to take all your belongings.

Remus.

Does this mean this was actually Fred's letter? This is going in a whole different direction than I thought? I took a deep breath and looked at the letter. After all, this was what I was looking for. I should be happy.

Dear Black,

Bet you were not expecting a letter from me. To be honest I did not expect to ever write a letter to you. The reason why I am writing is not that I want to, it is because mum asked me to.

She said to write and I quote: "Can you please send a letter to Elle, I want to make sure she's having fun but I don't want to keep on annoying her with my letters. Also it wouldn't do you bad to be on better terms with her. Thanks, honey.

Anyway, that's the reason I'm writing, not because I hate you any less. Did you think I would stop hating you over the summer? You would like that of course, I swear you love me or something, always all up in my business, where you don't belong. However, mom is right, I should try and get along with you. But, when did I ever do what my mother has told me?

I would rather you not respond to me, as i'm not interested in reading whatever you have to say, but, please do as that will make mother think i'm trying to get along with you. If you don't then i'll take it as a reason to hate you more.

Your favorite person in the world, Fred Weasley.
