CHAPTER EIGHT: PARADISE

"but when I think of paradise, I think of me and you"

It's been exactly three months since Silas bought my contract and made me sign another contract as his model and for some new project na i-lalaunch 'daw niya para sa agency niya. It was a lot to take in, to be honest.

It made me wonder 'kung bakit kailangan niya pang bilhin ang kontrata ko at 'kung bakit ako pa.

And it's also been three since I have decided to break off whatever relationship I have with Silas. I knew that he's dangerous. From head to toe, and even with his status as one of the candidates for the next head of the Nakamoto family, it's dangerous.

I have chosen to finally break it off dahil sa sarili ko. Ilusyon, delusyon. Imagination, daydreams, getting ahead of myself. Alam ko 'to. Alam ko 'tong nararamdaman ko. I had to stop it.

Kasi alam ko na baka mahulog ako sa kanya. And the very first step when it comes to me falling for someone, is thinking about their every step, every move, every chance, they do kapag katabi ko sila.

Bakit nga ba ngayon ko lang narealize 'to? The danger that will come kapag ipinagpatuloy ko 'to? Silas will hurt, he will. Kahit na hindi ako tulad nang ibang babaeng patay na patay sa kanya, pero alam ko kapag mahuhulog ako.

It's been months since I've had a proper conversation with that man too. Pero, of course, minsan kinakausap niya 'ko for my work or future projects. But it's weird... really weird.

"Charlotte Louise Salvador~" I smiled and turn around to face Chandria who looks puffy, as always, when she's drunk.

And right now, she is drunk. Way too drunk.

"Yes, Chandria Kim Jules~"

"Ako lang ang umiinom oh! Inom ka 'rin! Kanina ka pa!" sabi niya sabay akbay sa'kin and offered me a two shot glasses of some tequila, 'kung hindi ako nag-kakamali.

"Uminom ako, Chandria," I chuckled.

"Inom? Eh, bakit 'di ka lasing?"

"Because I'm not a drunkard like you, you woman," I said, poking her forehead after at tinapos ang dalawang shot glasses sa harap ko na in-offer sa'kin ni Chandria.

"Ikaw ah, niloloko mo 'ko!"

"At bakit naman kita lolokohin?" I laughed, again.

"Dahil niloko mo si Silas, hm," napatawa na lang ako sa sinabi niya.

Chandria knew that there's something up between me and Silas. She's not naive, kaya may alam siya.

And here I am, trying to act as if nothing is going on between me and Silas. Dahil wala naman na talagang nangyayari. I tried to keep a professional relationship with him now.

Mas nakakabuti para sa'kin.

"You're funny, Chandria." I asked for a few more shot glasses from the bartender.

"Yun nga eh." she groans sabay upo sa tabi ko.

"How did you do that?" she asks, leaning.

"Hm?"

"Paano mo naloko si Silas?" tanong niya.

My eyebrows furrowed and poked both of her cheeks this time. Hindi ko alam 'kung anong tinutukoy niya but this is just a bad conversation to talk about.
