Chapter 5

- time monday morning, december . 3rd block in high school 10:45 am-

it was three months into school by now, the winter school dance was coming up in a week and both of the boys grew slightly bigger feelings  for each other knowing it but not admitting it.

 Everyone knew how they had those small feelings but the thing is neither of them knew they like each other only their friends, Darryl has gotten better with his eating habits/ his disorder because of zak  and moved out of his moms and went to live with zak because there was a spare bedroom.  they are both happy with the situation right now

Zaks pov-

..... i wanna tell him how i truly do feel but its hard, and i dont wanna come off as weird to him and our friendship might end.. i dont want that, everyone tells us we would make a cute couple but we both look away and act like we are just friends because that is all we are...

friends.

i mean i love being friends with him. he makes me happy and i make him happy, we make eachother happy and that's all we need right now.. happiness not the feeling of sexual touch or anything just happiness that is what is important . 

i sigh as i watched the clock go by for my study hall class and after that it would be lunch and i could talk to darryl and see how he has been eating, might try to give him something small just so he eats. 

time passes by slowly the clock just going tic toc, tic.. toc minutes feels like hours and the bell rings for next period which is lunch and i get up and meet up with darryl and we meet up with the rest of our group to eat lunch.

By now george and clay are just making out by the corner of the table because they finally said they were dating a month ago, they finally break away when the whole group came over after getting their lunch 

George: Mn- h-heyy every- one 

of course- clay is kissing his neck as he is trying to talk fucking- e w ReLaTioNShiPs 

George: don't f--Forget we have thee- winter dance is coming u-up- C-ClAAaaYY StOP

clay just chuckled and keeped kissing his neck as george went red faced and faced the wall to avoid embarrassment, Darryl and everyone else nodded laughing a bit

Darryls pov-

i was sitting there witnessing something i probably shouldn't, zak brought me food which made me happy it was a small bowl of rice from home with vegetables inside with it  i ate about half and gave it back to him and he smiled at me saying "good job darryl im proud of you" i just sat there smiling at the compliment and said "thanks sgeppy-!" i smiled at him and we continued with the rest of out day, it went by fast of course , so there wasnt much to do anyway except talk about the winter dance 

I wonder what would happen if i asked zak..... probably not a good idea. he would find me weird and stop being friends with me.. maybe just ask him in a friend way?? yeah that might work i turn to zak 

"hey zak?", he responded with 

"yeah darryl?" looking at me 

" by any chance... in a friend way of course wanna go to the dance together.?. as friends-! yeah- friends"  

his face showed expressions of happiness mixed with sadness, like he wanted it to be more than friends, nah that cant be it i will just push it off  and after a minute he finally responded 

"of course-! i-.. uhm would actually love that a lot.. and as you said it would only be in a friend way it just sounded really fun" 

he gave a small nervous chuckle and smiled softly at me which made me smile back at him and we both agreed to go with each other, when he said yes that made me really happy.... even though its not a date its something and that's all i want at the moment. just to be with zak, he makes me happy, he is the first person who truly made me the happiest i have ever been in a long time 

" thank you zak.. it will  be fun hanging out with you, wait- we can get different suits! you can get blue and i can get red and black!"

his face lit up with excitement and so did my own and we both agreed to that also, after school we go home of course and do normal after school things like homework and plan out for out outfits for the dance. it felt like one of those sense in those teen movies you would see in the early 2000's 

only thing i know right now is im loving every second of it and i have always loved every second i have spent time with darryl and i always will.
