Chapter 1
Corey's POV
"Oh My God! Did you see the new episode of Criminal Minds?!" my best friend of 9 years, Lya, squealed into my ears. I rolled my eyes half-heartedly before answering "How could I not? Derek Morgan is just the hottest and don't even get me started on him and Reid!"
"Garcia and Derek's relationship though..." Lya trailed off as a dreamy look took place on her face. I sighed then pinched her arm. Yelping, Lya glared at me and I smiled innocently back at her. She rubbed the area where I had pinched her and pouted. Still pouting, she complained "This is what I get for being your best friend."
I shrugged and continued to smile innocently at her while I walked her home, which was a few blocks away from mine. Still rubbing where I had pinched her, she asked me curiously "So what are you gonna do while your parents go out to celebrate their anniversary?"
"I don't know. Maybe I'll walk around in my brithday suit and watch Criminal Minds while eating snacking on junk food." I answered, not really sure myself.
Yeah, today is the 20th wedding anniversary of my parents, Eleanor and James Sullivan. To celebrate their anniversary, my parents will be going out to celebrate while I'm stuck home alone.
Soon, we arrived at Lya's house. I hugged her goodbye before walking home myself. When I neared my house, I noticed an unfamiliar car parked a few doors across the street from mine. But I thought nothing of it.
I unlocked the front door and stepped inside before locking it again. I took my shoes and padded into the kitchen, where my mother had left out a plate of cookies and can of Coke with a note.
'Corey,
Your father had an emergency meeting at the office and I have to meet a client for a meeting, so don't wait for us. Your father and I will come home later and change before going out to celebrate our anniversary. If you need anything, I left $50 in your room.
Do your homework and don't stay up too late watching Criminal Minds (yes, I know you do that every night). Your father and I will pop in to say bye before we leave.
Enjoy your cookies and soda!
Xoxo,
Mommy'
'Sweet, my mom is freaking awesome!' I thought to myself as I took the plate of cookies and can of Coke upstairs to my room, where I ate the snacks while completing what homework I had to do. It was already the beginning of February, but there was still a lot of work to do, even though I was in my junior year of high school.

Sheesh, it was only 2 weeks after the Winter Holiday Break at Blue-Creek High School and already, the teachers were giving us enough homework and projects for the first two marking periods.
But I can handle it - after all, I am a straight-A student who wants to get into a few certain colleges.
After I finished my homework and snacks, I took the empty plate downstairs and placed it in the dishwasher before turning it on. Now that I was free to do whatever I wanted, I decided to rewatch the first season of Criminal Minds.
And by now, you should be able to tell that Lya and I have addictions to the show.
I had all the complete seasons of the show on DVD, so I was free to rewatch them over and over. I had the first disc of the first season in my DVD player with my plasma TV turned on and I had made myself comfortable when Lya texted me asking me to help her with her Algebra homework.
I, being the awesome friend I am, denied her request and ignored her texts to watch Criminal Minds instead.
*Time Skip (3-4 hours later)*
"Corey, we're home!" I heard my mom shout. At once, I paused my DVD player and dashed down the stairs where I glomped my father and hugged him like a koala bear.
"Hi Dad! Hi Mom!" I greeted, tightening my hold on my father's arm when he tried to pry me off. He looked helplessly at my mother, who shrugged before kissing my cheek.
"Corey, can you get off my arm, please?" Dad asked me, trying to pry me off again. I shook my head and refused to let go until my mom yelled "Corey, you can have pizza for dinner tonight!"
Hearing those 8 magical words, I jumped away from my father and hugged my mom tightly while I bounced up and down while thanking her. Then, I dashed back upstairs to my room and dialled the closest pizza shop and ordered a delivery for a large sausage and pepperoni pizza with a side of fries and a large chocolate milkshake.
Yes, I know - can I actually eat all that?
The answer is yes.
How the hell I'm not fat is something I don't know and probably won't know for years.
The person on the phone told me that my order would arrive in 45 minutes. I thanked the person and hung up before continuing to watch Criminal Minds.
*Time Skip (1 and a half hours later)*
I had ate 3 slices of pizza, my entire order of fries, finished my large chocolate milkshake, and went through 4 cans of soda before finally feeling full. I was now laying on my bed and still watching Criminal Minds when my mom came into my room.
My mom was wearing a beautiful light blue dress, her pearl necklace and earrings, and her beautiful engagement and wedding rings on with light makeup. I don't understand why girls feel the need to wear makeup since they already looked beautiful without makeup.
"Corey, your father and I are leaving now. Now remember, no staying up too late for Criminal Minds or whatever. Your father and I'll probably be back later tonight. Is that alright, baby?" my mom asked as she grasped my face gently in her hands.
I nodded, unable to talk with my face squished in her hands. My mom kissed my forehead gently before wishing me a goodnight and leaving the house with my dad.
