Meeting the Parents

Chapter 13

(Dominic's POV)

My beautiful mate was still sleeping on top of my body when his cell phone rang. From what I know, his best friend was stuck in Ohio since something came up in her family and Corey still didn't trust his parents and everybody else all that much, so he just clung to me for the time being.

Curious as to who was calling Corey, I plucked his phone from his back pocket and slid my thumb across the iPhone screen to answer the caller, who was his father.

"Hello?" I answered quietly, not wanting to wake my angel.  There was a slight pause from the other end before a deep voice asked "Who is this?"

"I'm Dominic, Corey's friend. How may I help you, sir?" I answered, politely. It's always a good thing to give your mate's parents a good impression of you, so I went all out with the politeness.

"Where is my son, Dominic?" Corey's father asked, his voice filled with concern. I looked down at my slumbering mate before answering "He's sleeping right now, sir. Do you want me to wake him up?"

"No, let him sleep. However, my wife and I would like to meet you tonight. So, why don't you the two of you join us for dinner tonight at 7?"

"Of course, sir. Thank you for the invitation. I will let Corey know when he wakes up. I look forward to meeting you, sir." I replied. Corey's father chuckled softly before saying "My wife and I look forward to meeting you as well, young man."

And with that, the call ended.

Checking the time on Corey's phone, I saw that it was about 5:30, which gave us some time to freshen ourselves before we went back to Corey's house for dinner. Gently, I shook Corey awake.

"Mmm....what is it, Domi?" Corey groaned, rubbing his fists against his eyes and looking so utterly adorable. I smiled softly at my lovely Corey and murmured "You parents want us to have dinner with them tonight at 7."

Corey looked at me then smirked "My parents wanna to meet you, right?"

I nodded in response before suggesting "It's 5:30 now, why don't you go shower and freshen yourself up?"

Corey nodded, but made no move to get off of me. Instead, he just stared at me expectantly until I realized that he wanted me to carry him to the bathroom.

I sighed dramatically before lifting him up off of me and setting him on the bed. Then, I swung him up until he was draped over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes and began walking to the bathroom.

"Hey!" Corey yelped indignantly, his small fists beating my back uselessly. I smirked slyly to myself as I smacked his plump little bottom lightly. Corey yelped again in response and he retaliated by pinching my butt. I growled lowly before I poked his side and eliciting a high pitched squeal of surprise in return.

"Big meanie head." Corey grumbled from where he was draped over my shoulder. We were in the bathroom and I had just turned the water on in the tub. When I thought it was full enough, I poured out a third of a bottle of watermelon and strawberry shampoo bubble body wash into the tub and watched as bubbles began to fill up the tub.

Corey must've smelled the scent of the body wash because he asked "What's that watermelon and strawberry smell, Dominic?"

"It's your bubble bath, love." I answered, setting him down on the mat in front of the tub. At once, Corey squealed at the sight of the bubbles and slipped his clothes off before he climbed into the tub to play with the bubbles.

I smiled at the sight of my happy mate and I grabbed his clothes before leaving the bathroom. But I stopped mid-step when Corey asked "Where are you going?"
