The Truth Comes Out

Chapter 12

(Dominic's POV)

'How do I tell him? What do I do?' I thought to myself as I paced around my bedroom in my private home. I was so lost in my thoughts about how I was going to tell Corey that I was a vampire that I was startled when my cell phone alarm rang to notify me that it was time for me to go to school.

Sighing to myself, I turned off the alarm and walked downstairs to the garage. Choosing to drive the white and gold Lamborghini from last night, I got in and drove out of my garage and to the school. I'm not sure if I should be relieved, worried or scared when I saw Corey waiting for me at the school entrance doors.

I'm relieved that my magic has healed him enough for him to be able to come to school, but I'm also worried that he might still be in pain and he forced himself to come to school. I was scared about how the bloody hell I was going to tell him about my being a vampire and how he was going to take it.

I wasn't going to be able to keep this a secret forever, so I might as well tell him.

I parked my car, turned the engine off, and got out of the car. Quickly, I made my way over to my mate and I nearly fell backwards when Corey launched himself into my arms. Instinctively, I wrapped my arms around his lithe body while he wrapped his legs around my waist. His hands cupped my face as he rained little kisses all over and checked me for injuries.

"Are you ok? Are you hurt?" my mate asked in a rush, his big eyes filled with concern. Confused, I answered "I'm fine, why do you ask, amore?"

The look he gave me answered my question. He was asking me if I was injured in any way from last night.

"Don't worry, amore, I'm uninjured." I assured Corey, I felt like such a pampered baby with how Corey was fussing over me.

"Good." Corey breathed, his beautiful blue eyes staring into my own silver ones. Slowly, he leaned his head down towards mine and that was all I needed for a cue before I leaned forward and captured his soft plump lips in a passionate kiss.

Corey moaned softly and I felt a surge of possessiveness rise in my body. Oh, how I wanted to claim my mate.

Pulling away, Corey peeked out at me adorably from underneath his lashes and asked "Can we skip again today? I promise my parents won't get mad at you."

"Anything you want, love." I replied, happy that I was able to spend some more alone time with my mate. Corey beamed at me happily and I couldn't help but smile back at him in return. Without looking back, I walked back to my car with Corey still clinging to my body.

When we got to my car, I let Corey down and unlocked my car. Corey got into the passenger's seat and buckled up while I got into my car.

Starting the engine, I asked Corey where he wanted to go and he told me that he wanted to go back to my house.

*Time Skip (15-20 minutes later)*

I had gotten us to my house in record time and we were now in my room. I was lying on my bed while Corey laid on top of me again.

"Domi, are you ever going to tell me what you are?" Corey asked me, his voice quiet.

Shit!

I tensed slightly before I answered "I'll tell you now, but you have to promise to not freak out."

Corey nodded and I took in a deep breath before blurting out my secret.

"Corey, I'm a vampire."

His eyes widened a fraction before a breathtaking smile took over his face.

"I KNEW IT!" Corey shouted as he giggled like mad.

What? He knew? How?

"Your eyes and what you did last night." Corey explained, seeing my confused face. Hearing that explanation, realization dawned on me.

"Do you have any questions?" I asked, knowing full well that he was going to have a bunch. Corey nodded his head rapidly and shot them off rapidly to me.

"What's the deal between me and you?"

"We are mates."

"How old are you?"

"18 when I was turned and 3485 in human years."

"What powers and abilities do vampires have?"

"Vampires have exceptionally good hearing, strength, speed, and reflexes. They can control a human's mind for a minute or two as well. However, there are vampires who are known to have additional powers and abilities such as the ability to control the elements or the ability to wield magic."

"Are you one of them? The ones who have additional powers?"

"Yes, I can control the elements, wield and use magic, see into the future, and sense auras."

"Hmm....what's the deal with your appearance?"

"Vampires have two forms: their original human form and their true form. Our true form only comes out when we're very angry or when we feel threatened to the point where we need to kill to protect ourselves. It also comes out when our mate is in danger."

"So you vampires don't burn in sunlight? Do you guys have any weaknesses?"

"No, we vampires don't burn in sunlight and we don't have any weaknesses."

"So since we're mates, are you going to claim me?"

"I can't claim you yet. I have to turn you first in order to claim you."

"How come?"

"If I claim you now, I would turn you into a half-vampire. But if I turn you first, you would be come a full-fledged vampire."

"When are you going to turn me?"

"When you want me to. I'm not going to force you to decide now, you have plenty of time to decide."

"Is turning into a vampire painful?"

"No, it really only takes a second for the venom to spread through your body and turn you into a vampire. However, your abilities may need a day or two to fully develop and if you have any additional powers or abilities, that may take a week or two."

After answering Corey's questions, he yawned slightly and snuggled closer to my body. Within seconds, he had fallen asleep on me.
