Chapter 4

(Corey's POV)

'Why? Why did that have to happen to me? What did I do to deserve that?' I thought to myself as I walked into my 3rd period class, which was Pre-Calculus. Keeping my hood up, I kept quiet and walked all the way into the back and sat down in an empty seat. It's been 9 days since that incident, but nightmares plagued my mind every night, so I haven't been able to sleep well.

My parents were worried about me, but all of the therapists they hired to help me could do anything. I needed someone I trusted closely to help me get over this.

And for some strange reason, I was looking forward to today when all I've wanted to do any other day was go home and try to wash away all the filth I still felt from that incident.

Placing my bag on the floor next to my chair, I got out the notebook I had for this class and a pencil. While the other students tried to get to class, I kept on asking myself those three questions over and over again until my phone vibrated with a new text message from Lya.

Suddenly, my teacher cleared his throat and I snapped my head up in surprise. My eyes widened in surprise when they landed on 3 new students, who seemed to be inhumanly beautiful. A small breathless gasp left my lips when one of the students turned around and looked at me with startling silver eyes.

He could've been a son of Adonis with how handsome he looked. His dark brown hair was messy on his head, his face was smooth and unblemished, and his skin was vaguely tanned. His silver eyes darkened when they landed on my blue eyes. Shyly, I blinked then lowered my eyes, effectively cutting off our staring contest.

"Okay, class! We have some new students, so make them feel welcome. Please take a seat anywhere you like." my teacher announced, but I continued to keep my head down. I refuse to allow anyone to see me as something they could pity. But because I was lost in my thoughts, I didn't notice that the guy who was staring at me before had decided to sit down next to me.

"Hello, I'm Dominic." a deep, yet slightly husky and smooth voice murmured beside me. Startled, my head shot up and snapped around to stare at the Greek god sitting beside me. Why is he talking to me? But to be polite, I replied back quietly "Hi, I'm Corey."

Around the school, everybody knew that I was attacked and became this broken and hollow shell of the person I used to be. So why was this Adonis talking to me? Doesn't he know? Wasn't he told about what happened?

Dominic smiled beautifically at me and I couldn't help the light blush that dusted the pale skin of my cheeks. His eyes seemed to glow brightly as they watched me blush. But before either of us two could say anything, our teacher began our lesson.

(Dominic's POV)

I had found my mate beautiful from the vision, but nothing could have prepared me for how absolutely gorgeous and enticing he is in real life.

The second I saw him, I had to fight against my basic vampiric urge to claim and mark my lovely little Corey. Then when I heard his voice, I wanted nothing more than to listen to him speak and talk all day long. His sweet rosy lips were plump and delicate, his bottom lip slightly fuller than his upper one and I wanted to just kiss him until he was senseless.

But the trouble came when he blushed.

I knew my eyes were glowing as they watched the sinfully red color of Corey's life source spread around the creamy and milky white skin of his cheeks.

I had to fight against all of my basic urges to take Corey all throughout the school day since we had the exact same schedule. I don't know how I ended up having the exact same schedule, but I knew one of my clan members must have pulled some strings.

Right now, I was getting ready to go to αναπαυτικός ελαφρός ύπνος or Restful Slumber, a type of sleep that all vampires can access regardless of age, but  it was mostly used by newborns who needed to get used to sleeping during the daytime.

Because I was going to be up during daytime for hours, I decided to use Restful Slumber to catch up on sleep while I was in school.

Getting into the large grand bed in my personal chambers, I thought back to the clan meeting I called.

"You called us for a meeting, Lord Dominic?" Angelia, one of my many clan members, asked. I nodded in answer to where I sat at the head of the large conference table that only the σοφών (Wise Ones), my second and third in command, and a few others used for important clan meetings. I would tell these members about us moving to where my mate was first and then, they would spread the word around to other members.

-Time Skip (1 and a half hour later)-

The meeting was over and I was free to do whatever it was I wanted while the other members of the meeting left to go spread the word around in our clan. Leaving the meeting room, i went back up to my personal chambers.

Closing my eyes, I drifted off to Restful Slumber, a dream coming to me immediately. Yes, us vampires can have dreams when we are in Restful Slumber.
