The Ex and the Boyfriend

Chapter 16

(Dominic's POV)

Corey laughed as he was chased all around in the park by his best friend, Lya, while I watched from where I sat under  a large willow tree with my back against the trunk. Even though I had only been at Corey's school for a few months already, I understood why kids hated the place so much.

So. Much. Fucking. Drama.

Just the week before school let out for spring break, which was this week, there were about 30 different fights between different students. As far as I knew, there were a couple between these girls who were arguing over who was the hottest in some boy group that was called "1 Direction" and there was another bunch that argued over an Australian boy band called "5SOS."

It was amusing to watch the girls fight, but damn scary to go near them, especially after a girl ripped out like half of the other girl's hair.

"DOMI!" Corey shrieked, running to hide behind me. Amusedly, I sat up so Corey could scurry behind me as Lya glared at him. Corey wrapped his legs around my waist, his arms around my neck, and placed his head on top of mine in a piggyback-ride manner before sticking his tongue out at Lya.

"You are so lucky that you have Prince Charming right here, Corey." Lya growled, stalking over and sitting down in front of us on the warm grass. I laughed while Corey whined "It's not my fault you don't have your Prince!"

"That's because my Prince Charming is Legolas from Lord of the Rings." Lya sniffed, trying to flip her hair from her face dramatically but only ended up whacking herself with her hair instead. Corey and I burst into hysterics at Lya's face when her fair whipped her face again, making Lya growl and pout at us.

"You two are so mean!" Lya grumbled, finally using her hair-tie to tie her hair back into a bun. I simply shrugged while Corey cooed "Awww, is the big baby sad?"

But before Lya could retort, a male voice interrupted "Corey? Lya?"

Our three heads snapped over to see the newcomer who had a group of his friends with him. The newcomer had green eyes and blond hair, but he had nothing special about him in his scent or aura. However, I felt Corey tense and I saw Lya straighten up like she was trying to hold herself back from lunging at the newcomer.

"Who are you?" the newcomer asked me, seeming like he was curious as to why I was hanging out with two people he knew. I glanced at him boredly as I answered "I'm Dominic, Corey's boyfriend. Who are you?"

At the word 'boyfriend', the newcomer stiffened. His eyes flicked back and forth between Lya, me, and Corey before he settled his gaze on both me and Corey. The newcomer opened his mouth to answer my question, but Corey beat him to it after.

Coldly, Corey's voice responded "This is my ex-boyfriend, Domi."

I felt Corey turn his head around then I heard him ask the newcomer icily "What do you want, James?"

"I..uh...I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry about what happened to you." James gulped nervously, probably because Corey and Lya were glaring daggers at him. Unsure of what would happen, I let my nails lengthen to sharp points and flexed them dangerously in front of James to show that I wasn't afraid to kill.

"I don't want your pity or your apology." Corey replied, unemotionally. I watched James gulp nervously as his group of friends began to whisper about what was going on until one of them called out "YO JAMES, I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU WAS GOING TO GET THE PRETTY BOY BACK!"

A low growl made it past my lips, but I stopped when I heard Corey laughing humorlessly. Corey's body disappeared from behind mine and I watched as Corey walked over to James. Lya and I both jumped to our feet, I was ready to kill all of those idiots when Corey's next move surprised me.

Corey brought his leg up and kneed James right in the dick while drawing a fisted hand back then launching it straight into James's face, making me and Lya burst into laughter when James screamed in pain and shock. His group of friends paled and trembled where they stood, and I swear I saw one of them pass out.

Corey smirked triumphantly as he declared "I MAY HAVE WENT OUT WITH YOU BUT YOU ARE A FUCKING PUSSY ASS BITCH AND I WILL KILL YOU NEXT TIME YOU COME HEAR ME!"

Then Corey spun around and made his way back to me. He brought my face down to his and we kissed passionately in front of his ex, who let out a whimper at the sight. Pulling away, I looked over at James from the corner of my eye and smirked victoriously at him.

Lya, on the other hand, was cackling and rolling around in hysterics on the grass like a maniac before she finally got herself together and declared that the three of us were going to go to her house and have a Lord of the Rings and Hobbit marathon.

Without even looking back once, the three of us left the park to begin making our way over to Lya's house.
