Meanwhile in the common room everyone was asking the twins about themselves, about Steve as a dad, and about their mother but they hung in there and kept the secret.
Nat and Steve came back in. Steve picked up Lexi and told Charlie to follow him. He led them to his room. He had prepared two smaller beds for them. He helped them unpack their things and put them to bed. Nat came a little later, read a bedtime story and kissed them both goodnight before turning off the lights and walking out of the room closing the door behind her.
Steve: "See, no one saw you and bedtime was as great as always."
Nat: "Yeah, I think we can make this work."
Steve: "Hey let's go downstairs with the others separately but I'll meet you in your room in a few hours."
Nat: "Yes captain."
She winked at him. Steve laughed a bit. She went down first, and Steve joined them a few minutes later. Tony and Thor were competing to see who finished his glass first. Vision had arrived and was already comfortable sitting on the sofa, flirting, in his own way, with Wanda. Bucky came to Steve. He asked for a moment alone and they both walked out of the room. Wanda thought after a few drinks she could read Nat's mind to see if she knew more about the twins but Nat didn't drink that much and went to bed earlier than Wanda had planned.
