Who is the mom ?

Chapter 25

Steve slowly opened the door. The twins were peacefully sleeping. The room was dark. He walked, trying to avoid the toys on the ground. He kissed Lexi on the forehead, then Charlie on the cheek, and then slowly opened the curtains to let some light in the room.

The twins opened their eyes carefully, avoiding direct contact with the sunlight. They put their arms out of the bedsheets reaching for their dad and yanking at the same time.

Steve: "Good morning loves."

Twins: "Good morning dad."

Steve: "How did you sleep ?"

Lexi: "Good."

Charlie: "Good. Where is mom ?"

Steve: "She is training. You guys wanna eat breakfast in your pyjamas ?"

Twins: "YES !!!"

They almost jumped out of bed. Steve picked up each twin with one arm and swerving again the toys, walked down to the kitchen.

Nat had already eaten breakfast. She kissed her children good morning and left for the training room. Wanda was still there and apparently quite excited about seeing the twins again.

Wanda: "Hey guys ! How did you sleep ?"

Twins: "Good and you ?"

Wanda: "I haven't slept much."

Charlie: "Why ?"

Wanda: "There was noise..."

Lexi: "Why don't you sleep now ? There is no noise anymore."

Wanda: "Because I am making breakfast. Do you want some eggs and some bacon ?"

Twins: "Yes please !"

Wanda: "What about you Rogers ? You need some food to gain energy, recover from your physical efforts ?"

Steve: "I'd like some eggs and bacon as well."

Wanda gave them their breakfast. She kept playing with Steve about his night with Nat. She wanted him to apologize but he didn't because he would be lying if he said he regretted something about the night before.

Wanda: "Hey guys those matching outfits are pretty cool."

Lexi: *laughing* it's a pyjama !"

Wanda: "But those black widow themed one piece pyjamas look so cute on you two."

Steve: "They do look cute !"

Charlie: "Thanks."
