Chapter 47

In the morning, Steve woke up earlier than the others, as per usual. For a few minutes he watched his soon-to-be wife sleep, and after that, he decided to head downstairs and wake her up with breakfast in bed. Unfortunately for him, he was not the only one to be awake, and his plans had to change.

Steve: "Bucky ?"

Bucky: "Hey Steve !"

Steve: "What are you doing up, so early ?"

Bucky: "I couldn't sleep. I need to talk to you about two things. Well, more like ask you two things."

Steve: "Sure pal, go ahead."

Bucky: "So, for your bachelor party... Would you rather go out or stay in the compound ?"

Steve: "I don't want a bachelor party. I don't need a bachelor party, besides I'm not even a bachelor, I've been dating Natasha for more than 13 years, I have a family with her."

Bucky: "I'm counting it as staying in."

Steve: "Are you gonna ask something important or can I go back to my plan and wake up my girl with breakfast in bed ?"

Bucky: "You're so sweet it's disgusting. But yes, I have a really important favor to ask."

Steve: "You've done plenty for me over the years, how can I possibly repay you ?"

Bucky: "Well, I kinda... Maybe... Like Wanda. Mm, so I was wondering if you could talk to Natasha... you know, she's close with her and ask her if Wanda has mentioned anything about me ? And,... well... I'll gladly take advice from you."

Steve: "Well I don't know anything... but I could talk to Nat. As for advice, you know you can always come to me but if there's one thing you need to remember is the small details are the most important. You have to show the lady that you listen when she talks to you."

Bucky: "Thanks man !"

Just as Bucky began to walk away, Natasha appeared from behind Steve.

Nat: "Hey love."

Steve: "Morning beautiful."

Nat: "I don't like waking up alone, you know ?"

Steve: "I wanted to make breakfast for you but I got caught up in a conversation with Buck."

Nat: "I was joking, you don't need to explain yourself. But I do prefer waking up with you by my side."

Steve: "We can go back to bed and cuddle if you want. Someone else will do the breakfast for once."

Nat: "I'd like that."

As soon as said, the two walked back to their shared room and laid down in bed in each other's arms.

Steve: "You know what ? Bucky has a crush on Wanda."

Nat: "Really ?! 'cause I was talking with the girls not that long ago and Wanda was having doubts, she wasn't sure she liked him."

Steve: "Oh, poor Buck. I think he is really into her 'cause he asked me if I could ask you if you knew anything, which is weird because he's never done that before, plus, he was very nervous."

Nat: "Well, Wanda seemed to like his advances... Just encourage him, I'm pretty sure she likes him too... I mean have you seen them ? They're almost as cute as us."

Steve: "Pfff, they're not half as cute ! We are adorable, darling."

They burst out laughing before sharing a sweet loving kiss. Then, they headed to the kitchen for breakfast.

A little while after, Bucky, Wanda, Thor, Clint and Peter walked into the kitchen as well and each sat on a stool waiting for Steve's famous pancakes.

Nat and Steve shared a knowing look once Bucky brought Wanda her plate and took another one for himself before sitting in the stool next to hers.

Bucky looked over at Steve, who just gave him an approving nod and an encouraging look. Bucky slightly smiled and returned to his conversation with Wanda, trying to flirt here and there.

Thor and Clint, oblivious to the situation, seemed to be competing to see who could eat the pancake with more syrup on top, while Steve and Nat, strategically seated across from Bucky and Wanda could only laugh at the old man's failed attempts to flirt. And they knew exactly what was wrong, Bucky's flirting techniques would have worked in the 1940's, but not in the present day.
