EXTENDED SUMMARY:
IN WHICH DAKOTA ELKINS, cousin of Sookie and Jason Stackhouse, is thrown into a world full of vampires, fairies and death. Dakota lived with her grandmother, Adele, her mother having died in the same flood as her aunt and uncle. Dakota never had a mundane life with being a telepath and all, just like her younger cousin, but now that vampires had come to Bon Temps she was about to have a much stranger life than before. Vampires had been 'out of the coffin' for two years, living among humans fighting for the same rights. There was even a substitute for blood, True blood, that was supposed to work the same as human blood. Strange deaths happen all over town and they have to turn to vampires for help.
