"Lessi, what are you doing?!"

She swatted at me instantly, "Shhh! You don't want them to catch us, do you?"

I rolled my eyes and she leaned over to Uvin,
"Vinny, do you see anyone?"

He nodded and pulled the hood of his cloak over his head, "A guard."

"Dangit," Lessi mumbled, but a smirk quickly grew on her face, "Gloria, go distract 'em."

I knew she would say that.

"Me?! I took one for the team the other day!"

She crossed her arms and shrugged.

I stormed past her, "Fine! Whatever."

I was always getting dragged underneath the bus with these two.

"What are you doing, miss Manú? It is past late," the guard said and stood straight to block the door.

I held my stomach and started making hacking sounds.

The guard's face immediately turned red and he got on a knee to help me.

Lessi and Uvin snickered as they ran out of the entrance unscathed, and I quickly left the guard's hands to join them.

"Hey!" he called out and started to chase after us three.

Yep...we were little scoundrels perhaps.

"Vinny," Lessi hissed.

He nodded and took an apple out of his satchel, throwing it at the guard's head, and the guard immediately fell back.

The three of us finally made it to the garden and sank to the grass, huffing.

All this running, just to lay in the flowers.

"Easier than the last time right?" Uvin laughed and pulled the hood off his head to shake his curls loose.

I giggled, "I'd say absolutely."

Last time, there was a herd, this time was just a simple man.

Lessi laid back and spread her arms out beside her as she looked at the stars above, "This is all I've ever wanted, y'know? Freedom."

I looked at the sadness all over her face, "Doesn't a princess have more freedom than anyone in the kingdom?"

She laughed, "Not this one."

Uvin gasped and sat up on his knees, "Maybe that's what we should achieve when we're older!"

"I'm down," Lessi smirked before nudging me, "What about you sassy pants?"

I wanted to pull her hair and wrestle her right then, but all I could do was agree. Freedom sounded so amazing to not say yes. "I'm in too."

Uvin's emerald eyes sparkled when he began to think on the same thing and held up his pinky, "Then let's promise that."

We sat in a triangle, interlocking our pinkies together.

It seemed like such a joyful night, and right when we were on our merry way back to the castle, a swarm of horses galloped past us.

The scene was urgent.

"Oh crap," Lessi whined from behind me and used my back as a shield.

One of the men on their horses pulled the reigns and turned around. Not good.
