Everything was not going as planned at all.

That witch had ruined everything.

I looked up at the dark castle in which the key to all our answers lied.

No one ever made it out alive, and I had lost both my son and my niece's friend Uvin all at once.

This was beyond furiating, but I could not cower or else the rest of my army will follow suite.

I hurried into the building to retrieve Lessi as she attempted to save her brother.

Enrian was on his knees with Uvin's dead body in his lap.

He had fallen in love with him within these long months. It was abnormal to me to see two men together, but they had made me realize that love was love.

I loved my nephew, but his state of mind was weak. He had almost ended his life after his mother's death, and now that Uvin was gone, he definitely had no more will to live.

I didn't have time to argue and grabbed Lessi by the arm immediately.

She screamed at me, "You're just going to let him remain sappy and die!"

I ignored her words and placed her into the wagon, drawing a fire arrow out of my quiver.

"Do not do it you monster!" she cried, and Adonis held her back from stopping me.

I closed my eyes.

The longer this castle stood, the more lives that would be taken.

I released the arrow and silenced the pain in my heart, wishing Enrian goodbye in my mind.

"I hate you!" Lessi screamed.

That's all I ever heard from her.

My soldiers and I were all heading back until Lessi ran in front of me, causing the whole group to stop in their tracks.

"Get back inside niece," I spat.

"Or what will you do, uncle?! Kill me like you did your own nephew?!"

"It is war, Lessi! If I didn't do what I did they'd all be dead."

"You're wrong," she cried, "you could have saved him."

I watched her walk away.

Seeing my son get beheaded, watching Uvin bleed, and having to end my nephew's life was hard enough, but what hurt more was losing someone's trust from someone I love.

Would Gloria think the same of me?

I mopped the floor slowly as my lower waist cramped terribly. I couldn't take it anymore and loosened the corset.

The maids around gasped and I sank to my knees, letting out heavy breaths.

"You are pregnant?!" one of the older women asked in horror.

She stormed towards me and did what I expected.

I winced at the sting that crossed my face and fell to my side helplessly.

No crying, I remembered, I can only do that in papa's arms.

I held back my tears and she kicked me in my stomach. I almost puked, but then a deep voice hushed the entire room, "You are disgraceful."

My eyes widened and I saw king Adon beside me.
