His lips slowly parted from mine and I opened my eyes.
I was just about to give up on him...on us...because there was no us.
But now, he finally feels for me in the way I feel for him.
"Hurts, doesn't it?" I whispered to him, "To leave or be left by who you've come to love."
His eyes were becoming glassier by the second, "Don't worry yourself like this, flower. I will return to you. I promise."
I wanted to believe him, but I couldn't help the inch of doubt I had.
"What for us then afterwards?" I asked.
He pressed his lips to my head, and his strong hand rested against my cheek, "Your heart will be mine, and I will be yours."
I smiled, "Then I will wait for your heart."
Just as he awaits mine.
He pulled away and nodded, taking out a white rose from his back pocket to place it through my hair.
"Compliments your skin and your hair fairly well," he smiled.
It's been twice now since he's done that around me.
His smile made him look so much younger and joyful. I loved it.
"You'll always be my princess, remember that Gloria," he said more carefully and grabbed a box from the top of the fireplace.
Was that meant for me? I had always seen it there, but I assumed it was just more of his daggers.
He walked back over to me with it, "If you ever forget my words, keep this, so you'll always be reminded."
I opened it as it still rested in his hands, and there lied a ball gown and a crown inside.
"I had got it last year for your sixteenth birthday, but I...I just never gifted it to you...stupid me."
I had never seen him so embarrassed. Was he becoming more vulnerable to me?
Tears stung my eyes, "Thank you."
He nodded awkwardly, "Well, want to try it on? I'd like to have this final dance."

I walked hand in hand with him towards the castle.
He looked so proud.
"Are you not ashamed of me?"
He looked down at me, raising an eyebrow, "Hm?"
Was he not even thinking?!
"I asked if you are ashamed of me."

Romance"You look perfect," he whispered into my ear. "Well you look a mess," I responded plainly, but he could sense the waver and doubt as I released a small whine. "That so..." he cooed huskily into the crook of my neck, feeling my pulse with his softene...
