A Romantic Ending Caper #13

Set at the end of 4x5 (The VILE History Caper). After the ice cave has collapsed and Carmen has rescued Shadow San, they all leave the two of you to watch the northern lights. As romantic as it is, Carmen has a surprise for you up her sleeve. Or in her pocket should I say. Wink wink. ;)

A/N - I should probably add I never proof read anything I write. So apologies for any errors I've made on any fics. Also, the next one shot is a crossover with the tv show Glee. I will post another one as well for people who haven't seen the show. 

After the whole showdown between Shadow San and Coach Brunt in Norway, the whole ice cave collapsed. Me, Carmen, Zack and Ivy managed to escape but Shadow San was still inside. Carmen did not hesitate to go back in to save him. "Wait, Carmen! What about you?" I yelled but she had already run off back into the ice cave. A giant wave suddenly averts our attention. It came from another side of the cave along with the giant Viking boat which ended up being washed up on the icy bank. "Do you think they made it out on that?" Zack asked. "I sure hope not." Ivy answered. All that was left to do was wait for them to come out safely.

Zack and Ivy cheer when they see Carmen helping Shadow San out if the ice cave. I was just relieved that my girl was okay and Shadow San as well of course. Zack tries to take over helping him but he claims he is fine and able to walk on his own. Only then did Carmen let go of him. When she did, she walked over to me and hugged me. "You, okay?" I nod in response. She smiles at me as I look up at the sky. "What do you think of the northern lights?" I ask. "What do you mean?" She answers. "I mean what do you suppose causes them? Is it something related to science or something mystical that we can't fathom yet?" "What do you think?" I wasn't expecting her to ask me the same question I asked her. "As dumb as it sounds, I think there is a red fox running along the skies and it's tail lights up the dark sky at night." I told her. "Well, I don't think that's dumb. Its an interesting theory. But what I see is an excuse to do something romantic. That's something we haven't done in a long time." I smile at her as she knew I've been wanting to have a romantic date for a while but with all the missions we just don't get the time. "What did you have in mind?"

The others left to leave us alone for a while. They told us they'll wait for us and explore Norway for a little while longer. Eventually, the two of us manage to find a spot to sit down. Of course, it is cold but I don't mind. It gives me an excuse to cuddle into Carmen for body warmth. She obviously had the same idea as she cuddles into me as well and we both just watch the colourful northern lights.

A while later, she takes a hold of my hand and at first, I assume it is to help her get warm. But what I didn't realise at first was that she moved so she was sitting in front of me then got down on one knee. I gasp in shock. "Carmen?" I question curiously. "Y/n l/n. You know I love you. You've rescued me plenty of times. Heck it was you that convinced me to leave Vile and I am glad I did. I'm glad we did. I've done things which I regret but you are not one of them." As she talks, I blush like crazy but don't dare interrupt. And I should add I have never seen her more nervous than right now. "What I am saying is... will you marry me?"

She holds a ring in front of me. It's simple but beautiful. I am still shocked to say the least. But I manage to respond, "Yes! Yes, I will marry you!" I was trying really hard not to happy cry. She smiles widely and kisses me which surprises me even further but it didn't stop me form kissing her back. She then hugs me as well which I obviously return. After placing the ring on my finger, she sits back down next to me and kisses the side of my cheek. "This is one caper I will never forget." Carmen says. "Because this one had a perfectly romantic ending after a successful mission?" I ask. "Exactly." She answers and swipes a hair out of my face and kisses me again. I won't ever forget this caper either!

I have an obsession with the northern lights and the mythical fox called the Tulikettu aka the elusive creature of the northern lights.
